Thanks for the kind words! If you don’t mind me asking, what is a choice you made that you wish you did differently?

I regret getting the Porsche Design clock instead of standard Sports Chrono clock. I saw it in person and in pictures before making my decision thinking that is like getting a wrist watch on the dash, which it is, but it is not possible to see the hands or the markers at night, which is a common complaint that I missed. Now I wish I would have had stayed with the Sports Chrono clock that would have been in Dark Silver accent and perfectly lit to dress up the night ambiance. This is not a big deal, but not as perfect as I wanted it to be. On the other hand, I took a risk on some other options that exceeded expectations such as leather door sills that come with contrast stitching and rear seat center storage tray in leather with contrast stitching with both turned out to be over the top amazing in there execution.

Thanks for the intel! That’s good to know! Also a quick update, talked to my guy at the dealer and FOD was available up to 2022, so I don’t think my car qualifies. I’ll good, kinda makes sense for me to have to actually drive it given how much money I’ve spent on this thing 😆

I have tried it a few times and I would not miss it if I did not have it since you have to wiggle the wheel anyway or it warns you to get your hands on the wheel. I can see me using it may be in a stop and go traffic but that is not a thing where I live or on a long drive that I may try and see if I like it. The adjustments feel robotic so that gets old quickly.

FOD is still available (at least here in europe). But the three months free and subscription options are gone. Only option is to pay full price and then you have the option permanently.

I had it a few times on subscribtion on longer journeys but in daily driving I never really need it.

My MY24 4S was optioned with ACC. In June 2024, I purchased the two necessary subscriptions to activate ALK and Innodrive. The cost was $25/month for each. Worked out to be less the money than purchasing outright over the life of my lease.
FWIW, the Innodrive is okay but not great. The traffic jam function is invaluable where I drive. Unfortunately, one must purchase the Innovdrive and ALK to have the traffic jam assist available. Typical Porsche gouge.

I find Innodrive worth it on longer drives where you may need to take your hands off the wheel to eat or drink or perhaps adjust the PCM/Carplay - just feels safer.

I would say it’s on par with the BMW system that came included with the iX3 we have.

This is why I advised @garegin to call Porsche corporate to see if that is still available to purchase since the dealer would not be the source to say that is no longer available.

You are absolutely right, ALK is the traffic jam assist that is actually called that way on Macan ICE for a hefty premium of $800 below, just to further show how these options are structured and priced on other models. Macan EV needs InnoDrive with ALK option add for $960 and no FOD at this time.

I don’t think I have it. It seems like the new age upsell, where you have all of the equipment but need to pay extra for the software. I probably won’t buy it as a sign of protest
I agree with you about paying to unlock functionality of hardware after purchase.
If you change your mind, Active Lane Keeping may still be available via Function on demand. It is for my '23 in the UK, what is no longer available for me is the free trial period before purchase.
It's a pain to find the FOD options.

Please let us know if you are able to buy the function via a software update or subscription. I have a BMW where the active steering is excellent. I have heard the function on the Porsche (pre 2025) is not as good as BMW’s so for those who do have it how good is it?

I think it’s comparable to the iX3 we have. I would say it disengages more where line markings are less clear than the BMW system but tbh in some ways that’s more reassuring.

IOn the other hand, I took a risk on some other options that exceeded expectations such as leather door sills that come with contrast stitching and rear seat center storage tray in leather with contrast stitching with both turned out to be over the top amazing in there execution.
Do you have pics ?
Center storage tray in leather appears to have disappeared in the J1.II configurator.

I’d be happy to buy you clock from you - certainly for enough to allow you to get the sports Chrono clock you actually desire. They’re easy to swap, I believe. DM me with your price, if interested.

Yes and as others have said the dealer is not the authoritative source here. I picked up a MY2024 off the lot two months ago and I was able to purchase ALK from the Function on Demand store. One complication is that the FoD options sometimes don’t appear until a few weeks after handover.

They’re in the middle of removing a bunch of stuff from the web (preferring the app) but you can try Porsche Connect Store to see if it shows up for your vehicle yet.

(fwiw I was able to sign up for monthly back then, but only see Unlimited / one-time purchase options today)

If you have a MY2025 it might be that FoD is gone. But Porsche CS would know better than the dealer.
