Before you say yes, here me out..

Besides the many other threads with complaints (where I am also active), I thought it was time for a positive thread. I've had my Taycan for 1.5 years now. It sits in the driveway (I work from home) and I see it through the kitchen window. Almost every day, I catch myself staring at it. The Taycan is just too beautiful, right? Do you do that too? Or, for example, when it's parked at the store and you come outside, you see it and think, "That's mine!"

Are there others who sometimes deliberately take a longer route just to drive it a bit more? Or am I crazy?

What is your craziest habit or thought regarding this car?

Check out a map of the San Francisco area if you're not familiar with it. I live about halfway between San Francisco and San Jose. Virtually all of the commercial areas one would typically go to are much closer to highway 101 than they are to I-280.

This does not typically factor into our route choice.

What is your craziest habit or thought regarding this car?
Probably the fact that well upwards of 80% of nights, I stand in a dark garage with an LED lamp strapped to my head at about 1AM admiring the paint for a few minutes.

Yep, the Taycan is one of the best looking sedans out there. Over this past weekend, I went to my dealer and they have a '25 parked next to a '24, and all I can say is they have messed up the look (to me). One thing I love about the Taycan is it doesn't look like an EV, but not so with the refresh model. Even the Mission E wheels look worse because it's not as "open" as the original, which I think while more aerodynamic, is no where as attractive. So, I am going to be holding on to mine for a while.

I just love driving mine. I don't look at the outside a lot but love the Mamba, I actually mainly enjoy the Blackberry interior with Neodym highlights, a non-obvious choice which I really love, after all the interior is the bit I personally see most.

I had a quick drive on my favourite back road to the motorway yesterday just for fun and got a bit carried away - what an amazing handling car, particularly considering its weight, I felt the rear wheel steer, torque vectoring and PDCC were worth the price. I probably only had the chance of full throttle for about 10 seconds, confirming more power than the 4S would have been a pointless extravagance for me round here.

Once on the motorway it was a comfortable cruise but not really any fun...

I don't have to look back at my car in the lots because I so very often am stopped by admirers who say the car and color are beautiful. Absolutely no regrets and not nearly the number of problems I see reported by other owners (which is really unfortunate).

"Or, for example, when it's parked at the store and you come outside, you see it and think, "That's mine!""
My reaction is more like, "That's mine?!?" The styling is outrageous, yet, for the CT, reasonably practical. I like to think of it as the stripper you marry who turns out to be a decent mother to your kids. (Not that I have any such plans!)

"Are there others who sometimes deliberately take a longer route just to drive it a bit more? Or am I crazy?"
I haven't done that, but some routes that I previously kind of dreaded as tedious, now they're fun (even with the low speed limits on secondary highways in New England.)

Same thing for me....I often spend several minutes looking at it with satisfaction and sometimes it has the same effect even among people walking by.
I have a series of photos of my Taycan saved on my phone that I often look at...am I crazy???

Facelift fascia looks like a BYD Seal.

Back to the original topic.

My wife catches me stealing second glances when we walk to the elevator of our complex.

what kind of weirdo stands around in a dark garage... ;) I sit down with my cup of coffee during my workday breaks.. and stare at my baby from this vantage point.

That quote made me smile......

Sort of the same (but complete opposite) of my thinking, once the warranty ends next month:

Its like getting engaged to a beautiful, sex mad girl, but who you suspect might be starting to smoke Crack.

?
Anyway, warranty extended - so I'll take the risk and enjoy a 4th year of the relationship, including free coffee at the dealers every time she's being fixed.
