Is the car supposed to lock when you walk away with the key? I thought I've seen that mentioned somewhere. It isn't working in my car...
Pretty much all cars auto lock these days if you unlock and don't open a door boot or trunk within 45 seconds. Not unique to Porsche or indeed the Taycan.

Try this Tony. Lock the car and walk away. Come back and (key in pocket) walk close to the car. The car should unlock. Do not open the door. Walk away (i think you have to be 19.5 feet) and watch the car and you should see it lock (lights flash, door handle close (mirror will not fold up)).
Confirmed.
I tried and it worked. (mirrors doesnt’ fold)
But.
When I came back, the system didn‘t unlock automaticaly, I had to open it with pressing unlockmon the key.

I’ve had my car for 4 days and it has auto-locked each time I get home, turn it off and walk away from it.
Mine never locked automaticaly.
Are you sure? I mean, have you tried the following:
1. Leave the car
2. Put key somewhere….and go back to the car, try to open doors.

in my case, car was unlocked, with handles closed, but unlocked.

I am only saying this since you have only had the car 4-days....but are you sure it "locked". The car does close its door handles and seems like it is 'locking', but without the handles extended one can still just manually pull open the door.
It locks.

@submatrix & @TycanNewHampshire I agree with you both.

Prior to getting the car, I thought I read a post that someone said they get out of the car (and do not hit the power button) and it locks and shuts off after they are a certain distance away. I might be mistaken and they were hitting the lock on the fob.

Would be nice to have it auto-lock (if it does not sense the key in the car and the fob has moved out of range) and that was the feature I was trying to "find" or see if I could make happen; but sounds like it is not possible.
Exactly.
i just want to leave the car, and it should lock automaticaly….it‘s not a rocket science, right?

It locks.
what buttons are you pushing prior to exiting the car? park button? holding/short pressing power button? Neither, both? Something else? Would be great to know if this is a feature!

Person posting above is claiming something other than what’s stated in the app. Not a helpful comment.
