The beige upholstery would look good with the ice grey as it’s a light complimentary colour. It went really nicely with my previous coffee beige exterior.

Personally I wouldn’t spec neodyne - while tonally it blends well with beige it looks a bit bling for me (but not bad).

I would however stay away from both beige and neodyne interior if going the purple or gentian route - too much of a clash imo and not in a good way.

On the HUD I would take it or leave it. I find myself switching it off as sitting low down it tends to obstruct my line of vision and the instrument cluster is perfectly placed. On my other half’s iX3 where I’m seated higher it’s in a perfect position and works very well.
Interesting re the HUD. I've had it on both BMW's (6 and 1 series) and on my Genesis. Absolutely loved it and wish I had it on the C63.

I may find i just don't need it on the Taycan, but having never driven one, I've no idea until Tuesday.

Essentially I've settled on not going above £101.8k, as that equates to a monthly payment that I can force feed myself.

Im trying to avoid a fully black interior as I've had a few black cabins now.

Ice grey is probably the way for me (I think) with the base black and chalk. To do anything more elaborate would mean dropping tech.

Half the fun is obviously playing with the configurator.

PSQSI2E8

If i want the HUD, ill have to swap to solid black paint.

If i get a Macan I'm thinking Genetian and Bordeaux full leather.

Keep in mind @4sCT21 that not all HUDs are made the same. I have not seen any information that the HUD substantially improved in the refresh models but the one that we have in the original is very basic, low resolution, and redundant to the same screen in front of you at best. The better HUD is in the Macan EV with augmented reality and such, but do not expect anything like that in the Taycan. I love my Ice Grey exterior color, so would take that over HUD any time.

Invaluable info everyone, its much appreciated ?

The Macan HUD looks another level.

Ice grey does look very nice, especially with gloss black contrasts.

Are you sure @4sCT21 you want to skip on the Sports Chrono?
Hear me out. I would be the first to say that on a Base, there is no benefit on the kW basis but the torque curve in Sports+ is probably a lot of fun that you will be missing out on, especially with PB+.

Look, you are already spending 209 on the Steering Wheel Heating. Sub that out so for about 800, you will be getting a superior GT style Steering Wheel with Heat and all the Sports Chrono goodies:

Let me chime in on the gloss black contrasts as you have to pay for them.
The only gloss black you get is the charge port fin.

Keep in mind that you have to option gloss black window trim and lower exterior mirror trim as they are basic matt black plastic as the rest of the lower front/rear/sides.

I think I’ve specced it. Aiming to order on Saturday.
Code: PSGBW742

I’ve changed my mind so many times on the colour but I’ve gone volcano grey.
I’ve swapped in and out of sports chrono. But I want the clock and I know you can a compass display on the CT but once you’ve done that the chrono is not much more. I don’t know what the battery stuff means but it sounds good….

I was going to ask the dealer about this as the configurator was confusing me.

Thanks for clarifying ?

The way to know is to first reference Standard Equipment list that spells out what comes standard. Then the options are meant to upgrade any of the basic plastics to gloss black.

Oh boy lol

'Temperature control of the performance battery.'

I think you might be onto something!

Back to the configurator.

My mate with a 4s sports tourismo says "drop rear axle steer." (He doesn't have it).

My mate with a Turbo S sport tourismo with RWS "it's the best thing ever."

Endlessly customisable lol

I can not wait to drive them both.

Macan first, then Taycan i think.

This is meant to be the endless Porsche vortex, you just need to hang on and know when to stop, but not too soon, as you will regret things afterwards if you miss out on something.

Im taking my frustrations at the new Jaguar 'branding' out on the configurator.

I want the best driving experience i can reasonably afford. If Sports chrono will help battery performance, then it's probably something I should have.

At least I've narrowed alot of things down, I definitely don't want any regrets.

Of course I also have to anticipate any future price rises ... I'll have to check with Porsche on that.

My interpretation of the battery temperature simply means that in Sport+ mode there is a more aggressive battery temperature management strategy. This does not mean that this function is not included without Sports Chrono. The car has very sophisticated cooling and heating system that maintains battery temperature at all times in drive mode.

The boys at outofspec put the car in sports + during charging, to help maintain battery temperature. Now I'm assuming they did that with the knowledge that it helps.

So I'm not sure. I bet the salesperson doesn't know either.

Let me explain what's going on.

HV Battery needs to be at an optimal temperature to accept the fastest DC charge along with a low SoC. Therefore, if you set a DC charger as destination, the car will gradually preheat the battery to the optimal temperature. However, if the distance is too short to the DC charger, to get the battery to warm up quicker, the outofspec guys put it in Sport+. I would certainly not do that if I have a good distance to the charger to warm it up gradually.

There is a set of variables that need to be considered as shown below. The refresh models (J1 II) get a huge improvement over the original (J1 I) with faster charge speeds at lower temperatures.

Thanks for the info. Does the taycan have a minimum journey time / miles before it will preheat for DC charging?

I had this issue with my GV60, if my journey was fairly short to a DC charger, it would not preheat and I couldn't select preheat before I setoff.
