So I’ve had my RWD for 2 weeks and charging to 85% shows 204 miles. I drive in normal mode and have the battery +. So seeing the range achievements on this board has me thinking that something is wrong with my car…did anyone else see lower ranges at 2 weeks?
Yes, the manual even notes that the car will consume more energy for the first 2000 miles.

Yes thanks. Just not sure what “consumes more” means which is why I ask. Did you see range values at around 200-210 at 85%?

That’s some serious range you guys are getting! After 6000km On a CT4 I’m averaging 23.2kwh per 100km = 225 miles according to the trip data. This is surely the best indicator of true range? Much of that was on a long road trip. Driving at 130kmh on the motorways with roofbox on it goes up to circa 27 kWh = 200 miles of range. Driving at 80kmh on Swiss roads without Roofbox its down to 18kwh per 100km = 295 miles.

It is common for the range calculation to be based on recent driving habit, so if you have been driving slowly the calculated range at the next charge will be a long way, if you have been ringing its neck it will be short.

I don’t know how you guys get these numbers. The only thing I can think of is the Mission-E wheels. My MY2022 Taycan with PB+ reads at most 225 miles of range in Normal at 100% charge. And I haven’t even been driving it very hard. It has about 1400 miles on it.

regardless of what the car is reporting, when keeping speed around 70MPH I can get 245+ mile on my 21 4s with 20 inch all seasons

I've had my CT4S (PB+ standard) for 6 wks now, 1700 miles, this is the best estimated range I could get so far

Yep looks familiar :) I'm just going to stop looking at this thread until I get more miles under my belt as it is beginning to p*** me off! - just kidding :)

I guess if we all lived in 20C+ region we'd all be achieving similar range and not forced to use the AC for heating ?

Is there an algorithm to bed brakes in with a new car so recuperation isn't regaining much energy until that is complete?

I believe that’s the case, yes. That said, after 4500 miles I’m not seeing any material change in range from the initial 200 or so. Varies between 200-220 miles within the ambient temperature range we’ve had since the end of October when I received the car.

There is some voodoo involved and recup is triggered at a certain mileage 650 / 850 miles.

Two types of recup - Overrun & Braking. Overrun can be user configured - 3 states: OFF, ON = Overrun recuperation with moderate deceleration of the car, Auto = Variable adaptation of overrun recuperation based on data relating to the area around the vehicle - uses camera / sensors to follow the car in front and auto brakes when that car slows down and coasts otherwise.

My view is that you get more miles with free energy coasting than you do attempting to recuperate in either mode (Auto gives the best of both worlds in theory) so I normally coast (it coasts forever).

To really add miles to the battery you'd need to be driving and braking fairly aggressively i.e. like you stole it.

I thought the 2022 models were supposed to have some minor software based range improvements but I'm just not seeing it.
