My wife hated this about our Taycan at first since our last car (a Mazda) would automatically lock when walking away. She got used to it but left the Taycan unlocked many times in parking lots in the first few months.
No Porsche offers this feature.

There must be a reason for not offering it. There's always a reason behind a certain choice.

They could indeed but no doubt there will be some Germanic logic applied why they decided not to. My guess is security.

Fob battery suddently dying / getting destroyed in some crash that somehow overcomes the "unlock everything" safety feature of the car in an accident?

I guess it's all speculation at this point.

If I ever decide to overcome my remote relay theft fear and stop being cheap and subscribe that option, this thread helped me immensely knowing what to expect.

I understand that. I wonder if it’s possible to change that button
Yes, I did that with limousine and ST.
It's a play&play change but it needs coding to activate the 2nd button to eventually lock the car.

Part number 971 959 832 C 6N3 "Schalter Schwarz-matt" ~ 40 EUR.

Yes, since launch in 2020 this has been available as an FOD option.
no, it was planned to launch in 2020 as FoD, but came not before the uPdate / WNJ8 in Summer 2022. The hardware however was always there. Despite the double button. :)

For a 1300€ activation fee, I'd expect porsche to send you an email thanking the purchase and advising you to visit a dealer to have the button installed for free...

Like come on... They could do that without losing a dime and let customers happy for a change

dream on! :)
I am pretty sure the dealer will tell you, changing the button is not possible/supported or be rocket science.
I did that on my own.

Except the coding.

Then again, I don't think kicking the car from behind is worth the 1.3k. I don't know. I want it and I don't want it at the same time 🤣

Wow! That’s awesome! Mind to share which module requires coding? Maybe you still have instructions? I’d appreciate if you can share that.

that’s done through VCDS as Porsche shares sw with audi, right?

I just posted this on the other 'theft' thread.

I really wouldn't bother having Comfort Access active in the UK.
Tracker said 94% of cars stolen with a Tracker device (assume newer / expensive cars) in 2021 had Keyless Entry.

The thieves have now bought the equipment and it's far easier pickings than breaking in for keys. There's much less chance of being caught (fast and silent) and potentially much lower sentence if caught.
Why would they chose anything else?

Personally, I would pay more for a car without the comfort access give aways. Even if its deactivated, its still going to be in scope for thieves to try.
They are not stupid. It's how they make a living and they want the most money with the least risk.

I also think Porsches are more likely to be stolen than Dacias. No reason for me to switch :D

Hi! Is coding via obdlink possible? What software did you use for that?
