I went from Porsche to Maserati to Aston Martin to Porsche. Despite the price, Porsches are volume cars (maybe not compared to Ford, but you get the point). You buy a Macan or a used Boxster (love both), you get the same people and experience as a loaded 911. Maserati I found slimey and to be fair, they didn't have much product to sell (pre mc20). Aston was fantastic, straight add on to WhatsApp for any questions, great personal experience, nice gifts on pick up and big car reveal etc. They can afford to do that because that dealer probably sells 1/10th of the cars as Porsche. Porsche is a machine, you get the online tracker (ish), Silverstone, magazine, gift in the post etc. It's a good machine and one I buy into, but the fact is, if you're not buying multiple cars every year, you're not special (I am certainly not special!).

That said... I was emailing with 3 dealers at the time we bought (Reading, Mayfair and Hatfield). Senior dealer at Hatfield is fantastic. He makes a point of replying same day to any email (even at midnight), he does the finance himself (so no talking to manager nonsense) and is a genuine car enthusiast with no sales patter. So, if you want to feel at least well looked after in a volume world, I'd go to Hatfield!

Couldn’t agree more. There are no excuses. I’m not excusing the lack of comms. I’m merely saying it’s commensurate with my expectations because those expectations are now quite low. I won’t go into detail but it is accurate to say that the Sales Manager and Dealer Principle have awareness of my purchases because of what I will summarise as some Porsche reliability issues suffered by me previously. Hence, escalating to them as suggested would be meaningless.

Ultimately, we run businesses as we see fit. In my business, had someone had my experience over the last 18 months, I’d have made sure my management team were all over it like a rash. That not being the case, you can’t not be left with the impression other than customers have to spend a lot more money with the centre annually to expect the quality of service suggested.

It could be worse. I have faith at least in my sales rep and will expect a call Monday.

Getting nearer to 1st March and really looking forward picking new car up then
Just been looking on Zap Map to plan route to Gleneagles and really surprised how many free EV charges there are in Scotland

Yes Wraps & Tints had them recommended to me by a couple friends and very impressed with the the set up there have lots of experience with PPF on premium cars including Porsche Ferrari etc so its booked in for next week and hopefully will be ready for 1st March and to be fair to Porsche Preston they have been really helpful ie dropping it off and arranging return so big thanks to them

ps Porsche Preston have used them for a number of years so another reason to use them

Are Preston dropping it off there and collecting it post works at Wraps & Tints for free Gary or are they charging you?

Impressed that you’ve managed to arrange that with Preston prior to registration.

The only concern I would have is that if you spot something on delivery that you’re not happy with, eg a ding to a door etc, are you not then at risk of Preston saying ‘it was fine on delivery, must have happened during PPF application and you need to take up the issue elsewhere.’ I’m surprised Preston haven’t asked you to inspect the car and take title to it before they release it to Wraps & Tints.

On my previous Taycan from Preston, I had to go through handover at the dealership before arranging for it to be trailered to Invisifilm for PPF.

I have contacted wraps & tints direct and agreed price etc but I have to pay for car prior to going for PPF Porsche have arranged transport trade plates etc with PPF guys so its on Wraps & Tints insurance which we have a copy of certificate I am intending going check car out Monday a.m

Not good but is it at the dealers or is there another reason for the delay

I didn't really get a reason other than it's finished, but still in Germany. So i guess the build finished later than programmed/slower getting it to the dock. Glad i pushed hard and got my old car sold already. :(

He said its got everything on it and has 2 keys at least. Said they generally are coming in as specced now.
