Sounds very similar to what the rest of us are experiencing. There isn't a "fix" as such but many of us are pursuing through the dealers just so that there's an active ongoing case when/if a fix gets produced.

I'm experiencing the same navigation problems; the screen freezes and then a "navigation loading" message appears, the InnoDrive system shuts down, and I have to re-enter the destination. An appointment has been made for February 11th.

I would receive a message saying charging the map as I often have during long trips but the map is then a black screen and when it comes back, there is no more nav. I have to wait a bit and reenter the destination.
I did it 20 times on the way down, continued even after the car was stopped for a while. I had to reboot via the 2 fingers from time to time.
The exact same thing happened to me too on the outbound leg. I attributed it also to the many map updates. It seemed to me that the car was pulling updates for regions that I had not recently driven thru. Kind-of reasonable, except that I thought "I had planned this trip in the app and sent to the car from the app - why did the car not pull down those updates while still at base?" Furthermore, the crashing following those updates is of course poor.

And yesterday, on the way back home, it was sometimes crashing every 5 min then ok for 10 then crash again.
That bit then did not happen to me. I drove the exact same route back and did not receive a single map update. The nav was stable all the way.
I'm travelling again in 2 weeks but this time with my wife and she'll be less calm .
I dunno about your experience but for me, the driver, the trip was a lot more relaxing than for my copilot (who took care of the route planning) :)

What is the latest update and can I check it myself in the PCM?
You find the version number of your PCM in Home/Settings/System/Software versions. 3885 is the latest and greatest discussed here. I am on 3882.

I think that as has been discussed.... We probably need to go through the motions of accepting the offer to update software under warranty - even though its a pain and we know it's not likely not to achieve any technical improvement ...

What it does do is keep the liability with Porsche... So that they can't argue later that by refusing the offered free update, you chose to accept liability yourself...

Of course, if they (eventually) produce a successful solution, then the inconvenience to arrange updates that achieve nothing, would no longer apply...

Thank you all.
As usual this forum is the best.

I'm on PCM version 3882 as well.
There is a navigation pack VO3959817PH_P1480_EU_2026.01
As I didn't have any problems before while doing a lot of trips and I see this 202601, maybe one of the latest update is not correct and brings me the same problems that others got.

I have an appointment at the dealer on Feb 9th and they saw that there is at least a recall to do.

We will see how it goes as I will do nearly the same trip couple of days after.

There doesn’t seem to be anything attributable @FredC057. I and I believe others have that version of the nav pack and have these problems, same for people with 3882 and 3885.

Would be interesting to know if anybody who has been updated to 3885, has got the lastest nav package (currently 2026.01) plus a PCM replacement have the issues. Maybe that’s when Porsche can’t fob us off further.

I have 3885 (since yesterday) and nav 2026.01. As shared, same freezing issues than on 3882 and previous nav versions. In my case issues started early December, although i do not know the release date of nav 2026.01 I just suppose in December 2025 it was not issued, but not sure.

People were having issues way before the 2026.01 nav pack. Very interesting to see if they go for replacement central computer (new PCM) for you now.

I have had mine get all ECU updates and the issue reappeared in December. It was fine for a couple months before that
Well that shoots down that idea. Interesting that it fixed your nav problem for a couple of months but the lack up updates to other systems clearly isn't the answer.

Once Porsche realise that many people are having the 3885 update with no benefit - using OPC time and their money (I assume PAG pay the OPC for the warranty work) for each visit .... and given Porsche are not flush-with-cash at the moment.... I think they should stop the wasteful software updates until they have a proper solution.. Inform affected people....

...and then if the updates are still needed as a pre-requisite for the solution - Include them in the solution package to make it one OPC visit, one cost centre for PAG and one disturbance for the OPCs.....

Of course - whether Porsche actually do that is anyone's guess...

I smell 'class action' .... :movember::movember:

As I see now:
1. J1.1 PCM capacity become not enough to process the increased navigation and charging station data so started crashing.
2. Users reaching its limit depending on the usage case (milages, territory, traveling distances, times etc.).
3. Recently no software solution.
4. Recently no hardware solution, since replaced PCM with the same hardware parts behind will reach this 'cache loaded' situation sooner or later.
5. What Porsche is doing now offering different 'cache clearing' procedures that make it work for a while, with the reason to take time, or worse.

@Bognar67 Not so sure about point 5. All the cache clearing attempts did not work. I have had 7 visits with 6 times a SW upgrade. After all visits I left and within 500 meters the navigation crashed. Point 4 is not proven yet. We have multiple lucky ones in this thread wit a new PCM and fixed issues. We do not know for sure yet if it will come back.

The german forum has people with replaced pcm that have the issue. And I assure you the hardware is the same.

You have the issue right now, correct? Go into the car, go to settings, put the car in privacy mode, and then go to reset it to default, which erases all user data. After you are done, lock it for 15min.
Then let me know if the cache clearing attempt doesn't work.

A new PCM will delete your data also, so you don't have much to lose.
