You‘ll get small maps updates all the time while traveling longer distances. If it would be just a server side issue I would be seriously surprised because it is going on for too long.
This behavior ceased now that my car had the issue fixed and all ECUs updated.

I hardly ever get map updates, maybe on 600km+ across multiple countries I get one, but they for sure are not happening every ~10 mins like before. The map updates spam has finished.

Yours is a 2020 taycan, from what I remember.
So you can take it to the dealer and request this campaign: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2025/MC-11023001-0001.pdf (this bulletin was updated on 29 Aug 2025) which should fix it, and they have no excuse not to do it.

So far both me & my buddy that had the issue, got it solved by getting the cars ECUs to be updated. Not sure which one did it, as they spent 2 days doing software updates on it, and updated everything - his is a 2023 car, so not sure if the exact same updates were applied, but both were done by the same dealership/service.

They also quite clearly state that you can't just update one or two ECUs, as they have dependencies between them, and most need to be updated.
Correct my car is a 2020 Turbo. One of the earliest for sale here in France.

I am going to bring it in and have booked a visit at the end of January. Earliest Possible date that suited us and the dealer had a loaner (clapped out Audi A1!!)

Just checking in: you can count me in. Drove 450kms yesterday, and it has been a nightmare. 5 reboots, no charging stations displayed, traffic indications frozen, 2 finger reset, etc... Ended up using Apple Maps.
I starting noticing that since August/September timeframe but it's getting worse. I'm hoping for an OTA update as I don't have time to drop the car at the dealership.

BtW : MY2022 here.

Mine was equally bad today on my return journey so used Apple Maps instead. Will ring the dealer tomorrow but I’m reluctant to take the car in (1hr journey each way) when there doesn’t seem to be a fix yet. Will call them to log the issue though

You are from UK right? Some other forum members from UK got an OTA update related to connectivity etc. Did you get it and did it fix anything? My hope is that this new update is the fix and we need to be patient for a couple more weeks

Could you write what System Software you are on ? @chan is on 3885 without problems, I am on 3882 with myriad of problems. 3885 is only available at the dealer.

I’m showing no updates available and nothing downloaded over the long journey this morning. So nothing since a map update late on Friday which made no difference

Okay, on the way back today, I received 2 Maps updates and I noticed a much different behaviour.
Planner ON
Google earth OFF
Not a single glitch despite numerous reroutes I provoked to possibly reproduce the bug. Charging stations were displayed with way more reactivity than before… and more important, no more freeze or nav reboot… I don’t know what to think.…

Combination of RAM issues and slow backend is my uneducated guess. Charging planner and earth probably use much memory, so turning one or both off will result in a better experience. And while thinking about last week and some of us had a very bad week, it must also be backend related. Maybe API calls took a long time, or there was too much info/data shared resulting in memory issues in our Taycans.

Weirdest thing is that it is a PCM 6 issue and only for Taycan. Making me think it is charging planner related hence Panamera and 911 owners do not have issues (both ICE) Since Macan is using other PCM version owners of Macans do not encounter issues.

all above are assumptions based on what I read in this thread. Hope Porsche can make assumption on real data, error logs and fix this issue.

Had a call back from my dealer this morning. They knew nothing about the Nav issues and hadn't heard of them before. He said as there are no active recalls or software updates available there's nothing they can do.

£100k+ car, satellite navigation doesn't work. What a fine situation that is.

Mine was awful on Sunday. Rebooting every 5 minutes. And after the 5th or 6th time, just a blank screen. First noticed a couple of months baxk, but only happened once per journey. It was not usable yesterday and i moved to Apple Maps.

Porsche Tonbridge had mine in twice as had same problems and eventually sorted it with a number of software refreshes including navigation. So for me it was definitely a software problem (they did not say exactly which refresh / update cured it though).

Weird, just weird. No way you are the first one calling your dealer.

Lets hope that the OTA update is coming fast. Some already got it. Curious if someone from this thread got it and can report to us if it did anything good for them

That's interesting - Bristol said there's nothing they'd be able to do if they had the car in but I might push back to see if they can come up with a plan. I have a lot of travelling scheduled including France so this will become a pain in the backside
