As your car is new, it will still be bedding the brakes in for the next few 100miles. So you want be getting any regenerative braking benefit yet.

You'll know when you start getting it when you get a green line going anti-clockwise around the dial in the centre tube when you brake (you'll get a blue clockwise one for very outset when you press the accelerator).
Thanks. That's good to know, also.

I think I read that the "Regen" button isn't so much that but more an attempt to provide a one pedal driving solution with it being electric. I'm not keen on that mode having tried it out.

Think the regen works as the Taycan is set up anyway. Is it not something like 90% of deceleration is handled by regen anyway?

I don’t bother with pre-conditioning so much as it requires plugging in before every trip and I only charge 1-2 a week. But in winter for early trips the cabin warming is a great option. With my turbo I’ve found it got rapidly more efficient once regen braking kicked in. Also requires a lot of throttle ‘finessing’ *cough* to get decent consumption ?

Glad you’re enjoying it so far. I love the way the car shrinks around you after a few days/weeks and feels like a much smaller and certainly nimble car to me 90% of the time. Just breath in on those country lanes!
Enjoy! ????

The regen button and modes have created much discussion in other threads here. The regen itself is the same whatever way it is put to use: whether by pedal lift when the mode is enabled (but it is weak then), or by brake pedal use (except for the first few hundred km, or for the first km each day, or when really much retardation is asked for).

So enable it if you prefer a slight retardation when lifting the pedal, disable it if you prefer that the car rolls freely.

There is a third accelerator pedal regen mode, activated with a long press of that button. It is a kind of adaptive regen by one pedal: weak when no car or other obstacle ahead, stronger when the automatics determine that slow is better.

(Writing all this, I can't avoid thinking that maybe Porsche should have simplified the regen possibilities. Or at least explained them better.)

I also didn't get on well with regen on the over-run and quickly decided it was going to remain switched off permanently (coasting is much more efficient anyway). As has been said already, most of the braking when using the brake pedal is regen anyway (apart from during the first mile or so).

Through the depths of winter my Turbo has routinely given 220miles of range. I regularly travel approx' 150miles door to door and always arrive with 70+ miles range (and that's with cruising at ~85 on the motorway where possible). Taycan gets a bad press from some for its range, but i've found it very good and spot on the claims (if not better) and expect it will improve again when the weather is warmer. It also chargers very quickly which also helps.

Congrats to the OP on the car - look lovely.

Hi
200 / 215 is my max at the moment in my 4CT.
Mines covered 1600 miles
Hopefully it improves over the summer.
