So was told by my SA that this is an EU thing. Can you EU guys verify? If SA is right then I wonder if all we have to do is Buy an EU version and swap out. And another note, SA tells me that this is now standard for MY23s

No it's not an EU thing because the Audi e-Tron GT and some other Audi models do have the animation but the Taycan doesn't

Neither does the Panamera (thank god).

Audi design the lights and as a gimmick add animation and then share it with Seat so they can do the same.

Reviving this old thread for the J1.2. Do all models perform this animation? It’s confusing as it doesn’t say it does on the black light bar; clearly it does on the new red illuminated light bar; but I’ve spotted (on the Turbo S at least) the zero cost glacier blue (also non illuminated) option definitely does it, as there is a video of it. Which has left me wondering if the default option does too? (On Turbo S) - or would one need to option glacier blue to get the animated lights?

AI says there is no animation for lightbars without the light up Porsche:

Only the option (regardless of letter colouring) with the illuminated Porsche logo is animated.

Not standard.

Some folk have performed a non standard retrofit for animation.

So what I found odd, the non illuminated zero cost glacier blue option, if you go to the option info in the Configurator, it shows it having the animations.

I’m wondering if this is a change for MY27 and therefore if the standard option also now has it.

I don’t like the illuminated logo option, but I might take the zero cost blue option if it add the animation - but I’d rather it was in the base option.

So I’ve got it confirmed that the light animations ARE on both the illuminated logo and glacier blue logo options! Just not on the standard option. Interesting as glacier blue option is free on some trims. Think this is a MY27 change.

The glacier blue one has animation but does not illuminate the Porsche lettering hence the £351 price differential on the base model. GTS and up it is oddly cheaper but that could be due to the different mouldings behind the glass. Glacier Blue becomes a £0 option at this trim level and up too.

On the configurator you can compare all 3 options side by side to read and see the difference ( I had missed this first time around).
