Just had a call from my dealer. Matrix lights not available for my January build . Chose to settle with pdls+. I first ordered it like this anyway and added them three weeks ago. I don’t want to wait months for the matrix light. As I understood standard LED with pdls plus also have automatic high beam but decrease the high beam when coming closer and when to close switches the high beam off.

Just hope that I won’t get a call about Bose tomorrow (see other thread). I already told him I won’t settle with basic audio and expect a good deal on Burmester if Bose is unavailable.
PDLS+ does as you describe - the prize of the matrix are the individually adjustable LEDs which are superior to the standard LED and can light up road signs automatically for example.

I'm sure you'll be fine without them this time around.

It is a worry though that supply can be impacted like this.

Thanks. I think so too. I had laser high beam on my X5 and they also had independent adjustable function. It worked well never blinded someone. However not 100% satisfied of the selective blinding. By highlighting the area around the car in front it makes the car it self less visible. I would have taken it but I am not going to wait for months.

I just loaded my current 4S (MY21) into the configurator and apart from the Matrix issue I can still have Bose - some glimmer of hope perhaps?

Apparently this thread wasn’t accurate. Bose should be ok.

I think that the matrix headlight change is also now trickling into the US configurator (with bugs). The "premium package" doesn't include the matrix headlights

I know this is not cool to be mentioning here and now for those in the process but man I seem to have gotten super lucky with my spec'd out build - had so many options I just assumed I'd be missing 2-3 chip based tech choices but not one thing missing - including two key fobs, electric steering col., phone charger, sun sensor etc. - must have scraped under the wire as built in Nov! This supply chain impact is deeper every month it seems. Hopefully flattens out sooner than later.

I look forward to buying my lovingly pre-owned low mileage CT4S from you. :)

I certainly hope that the configurator is just being a PCM... glitchy. Otherwise, it's not cool to change an order after it's been placed, but there are disclaimers that configs are subject to change without notice.

Also got a call today saying the Matrix leds are no longer available. It also seems like they probably won’t return until next model year. I settled for the regular leds since I don’t want to wait until September or later, so hopefully no other changes and a pretty CT4S on my driveway beginning of march.
Will miss that option though since I have night-blindness. Have the option on our Volvo’s and it helps a lot.

So in the US matrix lights where included for the 4s but not anymore. Probably now just pdls + like in Europe. That also explains the price difference.
Yes, I also noted this change

The LED light options have not been available for the past couple of weeks on the UK Configurators. If you look at the "standard" features on the configurator for the relevant models, the only one which you can have any option for LED lights is the standard base Taycan 2WD which doesn't have the PDLS Plus as standard

On the "Standard Features" tab, the following can be seen

1. The 4S now comes with "LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)"
2. The GTS with "Exclusive Matrix LED headlights in black, with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)"
3. The Turbo and Turbo S with "Matrix LED headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus)"

All other options in the configurator for LED lights have disappeared from all models in the UK as far as I can see.

I assume the 4S LED's are not Matrix? And if not, why would you not be able to spec these lights as they are a safety feature.

I can only assume the website will be updated to re-include options at some stage, deciding between 4S/GTS at the moment

The 4S has pdls plus as standard in Belgium. Op the CT 4 pdls plus can be chosen as an option. Those are not the matrix lights.

My dealer called yesterday to inform me that matrix was not available for my January production and I switched to pdls plus. This can also be activated as FOD but FOD doesn’t work (yet) for 2022 models.

I’m sure it (PDLS plus) was on my config made in July when I ordered. But I maybe wrong ?

I had a 4S delivered 2 months ago which developed faults and had to be returned and refunded. I looked at my configuration for this 4S and PDLS Plus was standard when ordered February 2021 but I then added the Matrix option as an extra so you are correct Lars. Therefore the Matrix lights currently are only available and then only as standard on the GTS, Turbo and Turbo S in the UK at least.

I am actually quite happy with the regular LED and PDLS Plus on my MY2020 4S. What would be the advantages of the matrix lights?

I wouldn’t let this sway your decision if you haven’t decided yet. There is likely to be at least 12 months wait if you place an order now by which time they will probably be available to spec again on all models
