My letter arrived today, even though it was dated January 22 -- apparently I receive prior notification only for the heater?

Sounds like a sweet deal to me (Porsche Rebate instead of Porsche Tax for a change!), since eventually I can swap the OEM EVSE with a replacement just by stopping at any dealer, and meanwhile I can buy a replacement with up to $600 reimbursement.

Excellent timing too, since I can buy for $800 ($200 net of Porsche reimbursement) this 14-50 40a plug-in:
... with a 50' cord, which might on its own reach the 14-50 50a unused outlet (for a non-existent hot tub) at this house:

Alternatively, I could buy a more typical 25' EVSE and buy one of these specialized extension cables instead:
... although foregoing any extension cord at all seems better?

I have a Porsche Wall Charger Connect and a good 240V outlet within both mounted on an exterior wall of my garage. Anyone w/ successful experience housing a 3rd party charger in this enclosure? I'm thinking of switching from the Porsche charger given all it's issues.

All, I contacted Porsche NA to ask about eligible chargers to qualify for $600 rebate. They sent me this document. Tesla Universal Charger not explicity listed so who knows if they will reimburse for it.
The APB6 letter (at least the one I received) has no mention of limiting what 240v chargers this reimbursement is limited to, only that I can speak to my dealer if I need advice - I have processed this claim APB6 $600 claim against an invoice for a Tesla Universal Charger - we will see if they tell me no ... if they do I will buy another one anyway and use it elsewhere ....

It doesn't look like primecom has many independent reviews although good ones on Amazon. I'm also interested in that unit so hope you'll report what you end up doing.

Here’s a picture of the new unit that I received at no charge last week from Porsche.
@Elroy and @daveo4EV, I would think this could probably be sorted quickly if Elroy snaps a pic with the cable part number visible. If it's 7PP971678S that should still be the old style cable that's under recall. I admit, I was too lazy to pull my PMCC apart this evening and physically check my P/N, but I did snap a photo of the 240V/30A cable I purchased while waiting to wire my garage (for reference).

Also for Elroy, the PMCC has not limited to 50% rated power, that's just Porsche's recommendation. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just looking to get clarification for both parties on an issue that seems to affect a large number of us on the forum.

And I got my recall letter today so it's nice to be in the club.

Here are photos of the cable and the back of the PMCC. Appreciate you guys helping to sort this out. With my old charger, even in my climate controlled garage, I would constantly get a charging error and overheating at 100% and had to reduce the charging rate to 50% in order to get an error free charge.

So, stranger and stranger. That part number isn't listed in the recall notice

The 240V NEMA charging power cables need to be replaced with new cables. Affected cables were delivered with the affected vehicles as well as spare parts / Tequipment. Affected cables are any and all cables with part numbers: 7PP971678EA, 7PP971678EB, 7PP971678EC, 7PP971678ED

Here’s a picture of the 12 inch (300 mm) NEMA power cable that was included with the new PMCC. So it appears that the Porsche Service Center replaced, under warranty, my PMC+ with a new PMCC with a recalled power cable. I just received my APB6 safety recall notice today. Now what?

I got this with a 2022 CPO car, seems like it still needs a replacement 😞

The recall letter states that you need proof of purchase of an EVSE. Has anyone tried to get reimbursed for a EVSE they purchased before the recall? I would prefer the service voucher.
I'm wondering the same thing. I bought by ChargePoint in 2022, knowing that the PMC+ had issues. It would be nice to be reimbursed for that unit.

What I have claimed - docs sent, awaiting result.

I noticed that too...the Porsche charger that came with my 2020 4S does 9.6 KW, so I hate to default to a slower charger.

ChargePoint Flex hardwire gets you extra 10 amps, so seems like it is the right one if you want to maximize what PCNA pays you and max charge speed.
