They put it on the wrong side of the car.

You cannot make that assumption. Some campaigns can only be performed at the dealership after the final PDI.

Would you guess all these delays, recalls and so on have impacted the resale values? Knowing all the problems they’re having, it must be off putting. Imagine being out of warranty and having a major issue. The ongoing maintenance costs must be an issue for many on the 2nd hand market. Sorry if it’s off topic.

This potential software update has got me a bit worried about what ownership might be like, with constantly having to book the car in for updates. I'd sort of ignored the posts I'd read because I assumed things would be sorted by the time I got my car.....

You don’t have to constantly take it in for updates. My car’s coming up on two years old and I haven’t done a single update. Car works just fine.

People keep speculating on things that others take as facts and run with them. It’s not a software update that’s delaying delivery, it’s an extended QA hold so Porsche can analyze the data on your cars systems before they release it. They do this all the time as updates are introduced to the line or they detect an anomaly. They have been doing it in all their cars for years. The intent is to PREVENT you having to come back in a month to get an update. They really are pretty anal about delivering a quality product.

Well, spoke to my SA Friday. Didn't mention any issues with the car that is currently going through PDI / is en-route to the dealership. I believe the dealer gets sent a report after PDI so maybe hear more Monday.
