Nothing in that text specifically refers to the solution being a software update only, only that certain data will be sent to Porsche AG to investigate and confirm the required resolution.

Plus dealers in the UK do not appear to have this same information and my car has already been withheld for 6 days, despite the timings given in your note.

So something isn’t adding up.
My dealer is Cambridge, and they told me pretty much the same thing

We’ve known for some time that VAL data is being sent to Porsche AG for analysis. We still don’t know what they are looking for and how any issues will be resolved.

It is software. No pinches of salt needed.

This is directly from PEC Atlanta:

"I hope you are well. We unfortunately received notification last Wednesday that a new stop sale was put out on certain 2023 Taycan models where a diagnostic needs to be ran and sent over to Germany for analyzation. Unfortunately, we are not able to release your vehicle until this diagnostic has been approved and removed by Porsche. Once submitted Germany takes three days to go through the process and determine if further steps are required. Once cleared from Germany PEC requires a day to process and then the vehicle can be released.

The workshop tech at PEC ATL submitted yours yesterday in the hopes that it would be analyzed by PAG and approved by the end of the week. We understand this is less than ideal when picking up your vehicle, and are willing to make any accommodations possible to make up for this inconvenience.

With that being said, we have a couple different options that we can offer you at this time.

· We can retain the original delivery date, having you come in to do all the activities associated with the delivery experience without releasing the car. We then would reimburse you for any rental cars needed since you will not have your vehicle, a return flight home, and also take care of transporting the vehicle to you once the Stop Sale is removed.

· Or we can reschedule you for a date in the following week or the one thereafter hopefully giving Germany and PEC ample time to remove the Stop Sale and have the vehicle ready to be released. We would then reimburse you for any flight or hotel changes/accommodations that would need to be made.
"

Because of this I may not purchase my Taycan Turbo at all!

This stop/sale is preventing me from taking delivery at PEC Atlanta and the resulting vacation/drive back to CT that I had planned out for my wife and daughter.

All our airfare and hotels were booked and paid for over a month ago when I got the delivery confirmation date from PEC. I spent hours mapping out our route to hotels along with where we are eating dinner and what charging locations we are targeting for stops. I also have/had an appointment to have PPF installed during one of the longer duration stays at a beach resort.

I am beyond pissed and the only recourse is to no go through with the purchase but that punishes my dealership(and myself) more than anything else but I refuse to spend this kind of money to be treated this way. This is my 9th Porsche and would have been my second time taking delivery @ PEC. I am not upset about the car nor missing PEC. It is my time, stress and loss of family time/vacation time that I am irate about.

There is a tiny chance they will have this expedited and completed Friday and PEC can do their part Monday (our expected delivery is/was Tuesday and we fly down on Monday) but given the length of delays noted here on the forums already and how disconnected PCNA is from PAG I have very little faith that this will happen.

I am not mad about how many months my car sat at port or the fact that I put a deposit down on this car 8 years ago (and turned down my first two allocations for a 2020 model because of the forced or missing options) but this has been a long wait and this is the final straw.

There is no amount of things that can be said/posted that will address/takeaway your current disappointment/frustration and also your to your plans being placed upside down for the family

May I say that at times like this it’s better to step back, take a break to allow your immediate reactions to subside and then reevaluate your options, from an outside view point is that if you walk away now, you loose out twice; 1 - you don’t get your long awaited car, 2 - your planned adventure home with your family.

Could there be a possibility/option to try and delay your journey itinerary/bookings to a date that allows a buffer for any other delays, go at their expense to do all the paperwork which in turn allows you to pick up any bits that they can sort out whilst waiting….maybe get PPF done by a selected contractor as well.

Or another option to keep to your dates, let them provide you with a ‘suitable’ hire car….another Porsche maybe, then do your planned trip with your family…..not ideal but at least the most important thing is that your family don’t miss out on what you have previously planned/booked etc.

Please note my intent is just to try and give a different perspective for consideration and see if there is an alternative where you and your family don’t loose out totally…… hope this is some food for thought and wish you the best on whatever your decision is……

Hanny thank you so much for your kind words and acknowledgement of my situation. I truly appreciate it.

Having slept on it and thought on it ever since I received the bad news I have had time to step back and I've tried to find a solution.

I cannot change time off from both my job, my wife's job and my daughters private school on a whim. The option to rebook PEC and this trip at a later date is impossible so that option is completely out of the question and off the table.

I have zero interest in going down to PEC to pull the cover off a car that I have paid for in full in cash that I cannot leave with. Also you could not PAY me to drive 1000s of miles in a POS rental car. Last I knew no rental company offers a suitable Porsche (or exotic) for a one way trip that seats 3 people and luggage for a week.
Does such a company exist and even if they do are they local to Atlanta, GA?

The experience with my family, our vacation and this adventure are all intertwined around taking delivery of my personalized Taycan at PEC, our journey and our selected stops on the way home. To separate them opens a bunch of logistical challenges in terms of airfare and hotel reservations that I cannot undo/change or remake at the last minute nor would it be close to the expected/intended experience that we planned on for months.

If I were to go through with the purchase weeks from now after the car is transported to my local dealership I would need significant considerations from Porsche (and not solely monetary ones) the likes of which I doubt they will agree to, in order for me to complete the purchase with this terrible experience overshadowing it.

At this time I cannot see a path forward if the stop sale is not lifted on my car by tomorrow.

Thanks again for your comments and compassion.

Yeah, it’s truly shit how Porsche AG just don’t seem to give a damn about their customers who have spent 6 figures with them. To not even offer any explanation is just arrogant and derisory . I’ve also had to change major plans due to this shitshow. That said, and as frustrated as I am by this whole fiasco, in the current climate it does feel like a decidedly first world problem ?

It's been a bit of a stressful day, had to lose my temper a little to get an invoice for my car which may or may not have arrived at the dealership, the comms has been truly crap. I had to pay for it today because my lender is putting up their interest rate 2% overnight! I had a 5:30 deadline and got over the line at 5:27 ?

Hi all.

In the same boat as many here. UK buyer, ordered a 4S June last year, due for collection tomorrow (Friday) at Porsche Newcastle.

Today my SA advised that tomorrow isn't happening, and that Porsche Germany have told them the timescale is 5 weeks from the date it was build complete/arrived in the UK (he wasn't super clear on this, timescales seem off when compared to what others say) to when I can expect to collect it. Which puts me back to mid June.

They have the car, but it's the same message around a software update from Germany.

I've had to push my insurance back, and right now I'm contemplating calling the whole thing off, my experience (first time Porsche customer) has been far less than I would expect.

Asked for a loaner, and they've offered nothing. It's the worst car buying experience I've ever had in terms of service and expectation management.

Sharing for info.

My car is due to arrive at the dealership on 6/10. Asked me SA about the stop sale and he said no news is good news so far but he will keep me posted.

Have to agree, my customer experience of buying dog food far surpasses purchasing a £120,000 car.

I recently received a Maserati Quattroporte for a one-way rental from National Car Rental... (shrug)

Many of the larger companies now offer high-line cars - I just don't know how many would do so for a one-way rental.

Hope you find some resolution to your situation...

I understand you were able to get a Maserati but it's kind of hard to get a Maserati or anything when National is sold out for one way trips. Not to mention trying to reserve a car due to last minute notice from Porsche AND at the same time as a national holiday weekend.

Even if I change the options for a round trip rental (which they are not sold out for) the highest "luxury" :CWL: choice is a Chrysler 300. Like I said I don't want a POS in lieu of a Taycan Turbo.

If you can do a round trip, Turo has everything. I've rented flagship luxury sedans for the price of a Hertz rental.

This thread has gone form useful info on the stop sale to organising an angry person's vacation and getting no thanks in return. Like ColinS said, we're all waiting, we're all frustrated...
