Hello there, my 21 RWD is at the dealer (has been multiple times). This time replaced the ‘central computer’ and gps antenna. It did not resolve the issue. The car already has the newest PCM updates (reloaded multiple times).

In my case, smartlift disappeared completely with random location based lifting occurring (more often not). After the pcm update, no improvement. However this time the smartlift option on the screen flickers then disappears. Thankfully this has occurred in front of the service advisor and Taycan techs.

The mystery continues…..

All of my problems seem to have disappeared after the service center reset the system (thankfully!). Good luck with yours.

I am not sure I would trust SmartLift anyway. I would rather do it manually every time. One screw up and you risk damage.

Yet another update: SA called that they would like to log me out and log in a different Porsche account into the car. This is to verify if its a credential/account related issue.
Since we are going this far, I am going to insist they reset via PIWIS (please correct me with the exact terms).

PDACPA or JCROIX, would you mind sending a copy of your Service Order (with proper redactions) so I can share with my SA. Thanks !

Here’s the relevant portion of the job order. Good luck!

Update: As of 11.13.2022 I still do not have my Taycan back.
As you all predicted, the issue was not resolved by the parts changes. There has been a back and forth with Porsche and the dealer techs. 'Try this, send us this info, etc.'
The consensus is its a software issue (I recall someone(s) stating that in this forum). As such I am debating having the car returned until they have an actual solution or leave it at the dealer so they can try whatever 'fix' is proposed. It is my hope no new issues have been introduced.
Per my SA, the car is in Vehicle Delivery mode so I assume it will need a full login and re-setup of my setting. They offered to flat bed the vehicle to me if I so desired, but I think it would be better to pick it up at the dealer and go thru the 'new car setup' onsite so that any issues that may arise can be brought up to them more easily.
To date the car has been at the shop for about 24 days cumulatively.

Thoughts, suggestions, jokes ?

Most odd but it did feel like a software rather than a hardware issue.

Most of your settings will have been retained via your Porsche Connect ID so once you log in many settings (not all) will be recovered.

I'd go to the dealer as you suggest and perform the task there.

I did not have the SA address the SmartLift issue, just verbally mentioned, so nothing on my paper documentation.

Quick update: Taycan returned to me on 11-5-2022. It was in vehicle delivery mode. It took me a minute to recall how to do that. Thankfully it seemed pretty straight forward. Surprisingly most settings were restored including the Smartlift locations. (i'll get to the Smartlift on a different posting). They didn't wipe the memory set on the door buttons so that was a good thing.
The worst part (so far) was reactivating my SiriusXM, unbeknownst to me the XM ID had changed due to the new "PCM"/"Central Computer". It took about an hour with Sirius XM customer service to convince them its the same damned car.
More updates to come. I still need to parse thru the essay that was in the Service Report.

Apologies for the lack of updates. I haven't had a chance to parse thru the service order. Life gets in the way sometimes.
In any case, I got a call from the service manager to schedule bringing the Taycan in. Per the SM they have new software for their diagnostic equipment which they are 'confident' will resolve my SmartLift issue. Fingers crossed.

Update : 4.15.2023
Car is at the dealer for about a week now for an additional issue, No data services affecting anything requiring internet connectivity which includes EA charging, telematics, etc.
Needless to say the smartlift has not worked since last year.
We are at a loss on what to do next. The dealer has exhausted all solutions as provided by PCNA up to this point. Further research is in progress as we await more advice from PCNA.
Just to clarify the solutions being provided are for both smartlift AND the new loss of data services issue.

here’s the separate thread below:
