My just delivered Taycan CT4 has the Sport Chrono App on the PCM; my car has the sport chrono with the compass face; hopefully it will be an update for all previous versions of PCM.

The app is really for the track and you need to have the Sports Chrono optioned on your car at build. It records (and displays) lap times, intervals and so on. Full spec of Sports Chrono is:

Its an extension to the standard PCM features of Sports Chrono - lots of telemetry, track recognition, data exchange, etc - not for the casual commuter / driver.

Yes, looks like this but with improved options. E.g. you can import and export recordings now.
I have a MY22 myself but never used the sport chrono menu as I do not track. Just love the GT steering wheel and the knob to switch the drive modes ?

I like these digital Gadgets, even without trackuse.
Also with the IOS App you can probably log some diagnostic numbers, which is pretty much not possible without having a PIWIS Tester.

Right now it seems not really planned to update MY21 and older to get the MY22 PCM stuff I heard.

Yes just like that but since I’m not at a race track there was no track layout on my screen
