I've heard many comments, even from employees at my Porsche dealer, that claim the CT looks like a station wagon. I know it's not just me that sees way more than that. Especially looking at the haunches of the tail section.

I see station wagon. ?‍♂

But it’s not about what others see. It’s about what you see. Buy what you like.

Have always had a thing for sport wagons - something about 'swiss army knife' engineering of cars etc - same reason I've always preferred my R1200GS motorbike over a sport or touring model - arguably the same for my M4 convertible, just love the 'transformer' capabilities :). Have owned two sport wagons before, both BMWs, but the CT to me has a little more of a hatch back look and def more sport aggressive looking, but perhaps semantics/personal bias - either way agree with prev poster, all in the eye of the beholder.

After all that have to put my future (modded) build here :D

See what I mean??? LOL!
I totally see station wagon. Too bad they don’t offer a wood paneling option.

As said, if you like it, that is all that matters.

Surprising to hear of guffawing about the CT from dealership staff when the Cayenne has been their bread and butter in the US market for years. The CT is more of a sports car than the Cayenne. They should be aware of the RS6 Avant next door.

Instead of ‘station wagon’ which has such a stigma in the US, I like the old British term ‘shooting brake’ which has come to signify an elongated sporty hatchback with utility, but lower slung than an SUV. Less Griswold Family Vacation and more grand touring with room for golf clubs / spaniels and Winchesters.

Is that Chevy Chase I spy in the drivers seat? That was a great movie (great beer-movie, that is).

I can't remember, what was the car's model name he mentioned in the movie? Something outrageous, IIRC.

Station wagon have never been so popular… a major switch from SUVs that are becoming too mainstream.

SUVs are transforming into station wagons, whether people recognize it or not (or are willing to admit driving one). Car-based platform, limited clearance and shrinking heights. There are very few true SUVs with a truck-based platform left and even most of those on truck-based platforms are severely lacking the approach/departure and breakover angles to live up to the "utility" name.

I see this trend as a good thing overall - the evolution improves mileage, improves handling, drops the CoG to minimize rollovers, etc.

A rose by any other name...
