As with all purchases, price, and therefore value matters. Some people might decide half price J1.1 is worth it. Personally, I don't see enough value in J1.2 to justify the upgrade price after almost 3 years (probably ~$100K).
Yes I couldn’t beat the price for a j1.1 last summer for a CPO PTS, in a color I really wanted and warranty until 2030. Also J1.1 I knew I really liked already. Good enough and cheaper. But the newer front end has grown on me I don’t mind it at all now.

The look of the gen1 is so much nicer. Maybe one they they will release a software update to match gen2
I’m admittedly mixed on the front fascia change myself. I liked the look of the gen 1.

At least the Gen2 GTS doesn’t have the harsh triangular chunks of the turbo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Someone once told me "You don't see the front end of the car when you are driving it" and I was able to buy an ugly to me at the time front refresh model (S550 Mustang 18+). I eventually came around to loving it.

I did post my entire trip/charging log…

The last time I went north up the 5, I had many more stops and on this one I only had one.

I did 240 miles before charging, and still had 12% when I did.
Thanks, and yes, I read through your trip logs. I just didn't/don't see the range figures,
and how much state-of-charge you had after each charging session. I'm curious as
to how much more range the new car has vs. your old one, all other things being equal
(average speed, ambient temperature, etc.).

You sound skeptical.

It has a larger battery. What else do you need to know to back up the claims?

97 kWh usable vs 83.7 kWh.

There are also some objective range tests- https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2025-porsche-taycan-range-test.html
nope, not skeptical, and I'm aware of all the online range tests...
Just curious to hear everybody's individual figures.
Over in the Macan EV forum, the range figures vary widely from owner to owner
and vehicle to vehicle, and it's not obvious that it's entirely due to speed and/or temperature.

That’s why you shouldn’t trust the owner to owner stats based on displayed range estimates.

They vary greatly because they’re wildly different based on lots of variables and the displayed range is just a computer guessing based on temperature and historical driving style.

It’s why I trust the range tests. Standardized and they minimize variables.

My log for the trip did show that; I had one charge session. I drove 240 miles, and arrived at the charger with 12% SoC. I charged to 75% before continuing on, and needed no additional charging.

@69Mach390 is right; it’s not easy to replicate the same exact conditions trip-over-trip as there are so many factors including traffic, wind, etc.

I can say though, on the J1:
- I never went 240 miles in a single leg, ever. (176 appears to be my record on the J1)
- I’ve never gone up the 5 without needing more than one charge stop.

So while admittedly not scientific, it definitely feels like I’ve got a lot more range than I had before.

understood, but I'm always interested in real-world owner trip data, in addition to data from journalist testers who have cars that are not their own (and in many cases are even pre-production vehicles).... And no two cars/battery packs are exactly alike...

On the Weissach, I'm getting over 300miles in normal driving. It's pretty impressive

Great vehicle, hope you enjoy it. Did you notice any improvements on the suspension? Porsche claims new air suspension should have an improvement on comfort, especially on city/low speed driving. Curious if it is noticeable.

All the way to the top!
I know this is contentious, and I have never heard the Burmester system, but when I was speccing my car during Covid Bose was unavailable so I compared the standard and Bose systems.
For my type of listening, mainly classical, folk and speech, the standard was slightly less harsh had a flatter frequency response and less colouration than the Bose.
No extra surround modes and just bass and treble controls (lowest colouration and natural speech with both flat) and less power but for me better at accurate audio (my home audio system cost more than my Taycan to show audio accuracy is important to me ;))

I like deep bass but detest the overbearing boomy one-note bass common in car systems.

Anecdotal comments by, probably 90% non-scientific method, of a one driver, one location, one car "data" over a short period are obviously worthless and having so many is one of the reasons the internet is such a pit of misinformation and bollox.
IMHO of course.

My wife and I both have EVs. She never drives my car, but I drive hers from time to time, and recently a little more when my Taycan was out of commission due to heating failures. I can tell you that as soon as I do one drive in my wife's eTron, the estimated mileage immediately and noticeably drops. I mean literally me getting in her car, seeing 200+ miles of estimated range at 80% SoC, I drive 20 miles, come back and charge back to 80%, and it now showing 179miles of range. For reference, my Taycan right now shows 177miles of range at 85% SoC. Oh, wait, while typing this, the range just went up to 178miles (app said "Just updated" when showing the 177 miles, so if you trust the German software engineering, it literally changed as I was typing this). Oh wait, it just went back to 177miles, I guess the car cannot decide for sure (note: it is currently NOT charging, EVSE is showing as off).

Bottom line, the range estimate is a very rough guestimate. No different than ICE car range estimates (I was in ICE rentals for few weeks, estimated ranges varied quite a bit, up and down).
