What do the designations 50% and 100% percent relate to. Is it rate of charging? If charging from a 110 v plug, can I use 100%?

Yes, you can use 100% on a 110 (but you won't like it.)
If you use a NEMA 14-50, you will have to use 50% or it will eventually start to overheat and fail.

The best thing to do is throw it back in the bag and get any other home EVSE. I chose Wallbox Pulsar Plus and like it.

No issues with mine at 100% so far. Not sure if everyone is impacted. I do use 50% when I don’t need the speed..

Mine worked great at 100% for about a year, then started to fail.

Old thread but figured I’d reply to this vs new question. With the 2025 model is the issue of charging at 50% vs 100% still a concern with the Porsche mobile charger? I just got mine installed and i am going to give it a go at 100% tonight I suppose as the charger i received from Porsche is temporary until they get me a new one.

Good luck. The Porsche chargers have been a disaster. I suffered through it with my 2020, upgraded to a chargepoint home flex and didn’t even open the Porsche charger that came with my 2025. There are lots of good low cost options that don’t have the hassle and problems of the Porsche chargers. Search for Daveo4ev’s charger threads.

Porsche charger's since the recall with the improved power supply cable suck less, but still suck.

I'm of the opinion you're better off with one of the many excellent alternatives, but I'm hopelessly biased. Review the thread above and I think you'll see they still have more problems than the should.

Here are the chargers that seem to be well regarded. There are surely more and you can search the forum to find the tradeoffs but these seem to be the most commonly used. YMMV
1. Tesla Universal (https://shop.tesla.com/product/universal-wall-connector)
2. Wallbox Pulsar Plus (https://wallbox.com/en_us/)
3. Chargepoint Home Flex (https://www.chargepoint.com/drivers...t1aiMKXL8e0twOf9oiU0btzGFgIoq6OCGc7xT-Qt44n4o)
4. Emporia (https://shop.emporiaenergy.com/products/emporia-ev-charger?variant=44861002121471)

Here's a decent set of reviews.

I charged this morning and was just checking on it. It’s charging at 9kwH and while the charge cord is slightly warm the cord and Nema connection to outlet is cool/room temp to touch.

I have the premium Hubble EV logo’d outlet in my garage. I’ll monitor and update thread over the next little while.

Only charge at 80% of circuit rating i.e. if you installed a 40amp breaker and wall outlet then charge at about 28 to 30 amps to avoid melting (i.e fire ...bad) the wall outlet. That's about 6.1kW. I just dialed back the wall charger (Juicebox) to those settings. If you live where it gets hot like me maybe dial it back more if your garage is like 95 degrees at midnight etc. Middle of winter you could kick it up a wee bit if you're so inclined.
