What was your handover like

I collected my Taycan from the dealer a couple of weeks ago and just wondering how my experience compares.

When I bought my Range Rover a few years ago the dealer gave me a bottle of champagne and a few other things + the keys came in a nice presentation box.

when I collected my Taycan I was handed both keys tied together with a plastic tie and no gift at all.

Was my dealer particularly stingy or is this a Porsche thing?

Maybe stingy? I only have 2 dealers to compare, but when I bought my first Porsche, a 718 Boxster S, there was very little fanfare. It was during peak covid, but I sat in the dealer for nearly 2 hours waiting for financing (after having done 90% of the leg work remotely due to COVID), and when it was over, the salesman handed me the keys and asked if I had any questions. That was it. It was fairly similar for my 4S delivery at the same dealership, and at the time of delivery I knew more about the car than the salespeople at the dealership.

When I picked up my CT4, it was at another dealer in Texas but hundreds of miles away and it was a totally different experience. The cover reveal of the vehicle, full tour of the vehicle, multiple Porsche lanyards, a beautiful miami blue coffee mug that is sitting right next to me as a type, set up the car to Porsche Connect before I left, gave me a mini bottle of champagne, and a hardbound book about the making of the Taycan. I also road tripped the car back home nearly 600 miles and the next day my salesman called to make sure I survived, haha.

I don't have any knocks against my hometown dealer as I feel the business aspect of their dealership is fair, but they are also the only game in town and for hundreds of miles, so they don't seem to roll it out like dealerships with a bit more competition nearby.

We got a bunch of flowers for my wife, a Porsche branded drink bottle and my spare key was in a box with a picture frame and business card box.

Also a thank you card from the sales girl.

I think most Taycan owners have by now been conditioned to be happy as long as they just get their car...

... with all the delays, etc... just being able to take delivery and drive away.... would be the winner !

Sad... because taking delivery of an expensive car should be a joyous memorable moment... and not a sigh of relief.

I got 2 porsche branded beer glasses/tumblers, massive bunch of flowers, the big reveal (I've posted the video elsewhere on here), explanation of charging and they let me top up from 80-97% free (would have been 100% but I was eager to get going). Really good handover and a good pace

I got flowers for my wife. They sent them at home when the car arrived in Belgium two weeks before delivery. At delivery a key chain and bottle of champagne. And my car was revealed from its silk like cover. All connections tested. Didn’t work directly but they got it working within 30 minutes. Took about one hour but didn’t tell me anything new because of my preparation.

Unfortunately, some person picking up their Macan was late, so my Taycan CT 4S was not able to have the cover removal reveal. My Sales Associate was not happy that the other SA refused to move the Macan out. Otherwise, I was given the All Season floor mats at no charge, my key (only one came at delivery, have 2 now) on a dealership branded key chain, and a 30 minute session with their Porsche delivery specialist (which was a waste of time as 99% of the PCM is the same as in my Cayenne). It wasn’t as bad as it sounds, but it wasn’t anything extremely special.

I got a Cayman S, two Porsche bikes, a Porsche watch, and cashmere car cover.

Seriously, I signed the papers, took the keys, and left.

I got two leather keychains, a set of all season Taycan floor mats and a $250 gift card to the parts department - which I used to buy the Cross Turismo all season cargo mat. Also a handful of Kirkland bottled water for the 125 mile drive home.

Honestly, it was more than I was expecting after the disaster delivery I had with Tesla in 2018..

On a side note - I had ordered the car with the aluminum pedal option (footrest, brake and accelerator) and at that time, the picture showed the footrest was also aluminum. The car was received with no aluminum footrest. The dealer said Porsche would have to compensate me since it was some kind of Monroney error. Porsche sent me a check for $500 for the error. This was also a lot more than I expected !!!

Sadly off the back of a trailer at the side of the road no welcome pack instructions and a filthy dirty car
Guess that’s the joy of leasing lots of issues supplying dealer completely useless didn’t pdi the car correctly supplied with wrong locking wheel key etc
but now with Porsche Glasgow super happy with the support and I do love the car

Was this for the Taycan? I wonder my keys were handed to me as if they were returning them after a service then if so!
