Couple of posts in German forum PFF claim some service centers require photo or video proof of nav hangs to obtain WTG1.
Indeed, I had the same demand from my Porsche dealer in France. I've told them no way since driving and using the phone at the same time is somewhat dangerous, don't you think?

I also told them to use the extensive and details report case they have when I brought the car in 8 month ago for this exact issue.

No news since, it was last Thursday.

The issue with stuck on the Porsche logo in PCM is a known issue of the Audi MIBv3 plattform that this PCM is built on and is related to corruption in the files related to maps in navigation.

While not admitting that this is the case my service rep asked this morning "Do you have a picture of the navigation failing".

I actually had one from when I opened the case a few months ago. Let's see what happens from here.

Same with me in Germany. They require a picture/video to get the update approved by PAG. However, it seems that it's more or less irrelevant what the picture is showing.

They also require in Switzerland, and they have required video every time I had to bring the car to service for this issues, probably more than 6-7 times.

The problem is, as long as the car had warranty, they cannot deny you support, but to be able to invoice it to Porsche mothership they need proof, as it is not part of a recall. At least that’s how it was explained to me

In which case, that is their problem and not yours - Your contract is with them and theirs is with the mothership. So they should serve you and arrange for the videos or whatever proof they need to be reimbursed themselves. Just my 2cents....

Same here in Norway. When I handed in my 2020 Turbo this morning for the 6-year service, including change of PSCB brake pads, and asked for WTG1 I was told it may not be possible since Porsche Germany requires photo or video to give permission for that upgrade, but they said they would do their best.

I said “since I have to pay $5050 for this service, I expect everything to be up to date and ready to go when I pick the car up later today”

When I picked the car up in the afternoon the PCM had been upgraded to version 3892 and as soon I started up the car about 10 OTA updates were successfully installed, so it apparently also solved the OTA problem.

Everything seems to be working fine now, just hope it lasts;)

Great Report R, hope all goes well. Hope you don't mind me asking... Did they replace discs and pads? or just pads? What is approx mileage/kilos on car? Cheers

Great result @Rollep reminded to me to report that a 2 finger salute encouraged update of calendar app to version 8.0.1, the weather app is also at this version. Looks like the error I saw after WTG1 was the legal notice app, that’s still at 7.1.16, but OTA seems to be working ok.

Good news, and well done.

My service center also said that a video showing that the navi performs a restart, was required. Well, not so easy when you usually drive alone in the car, along the highway. My car goes in next week to replace the fan in the left wheel-well and I will ask them again if an update can be done.

Leaving for a road trip through Europe by end of June, and I need the navi to behave properly by then.

Just pads, I don’t even dare to think about how much PSCB discs would cost😉

About 40 000 km so there was probably not much wear on the pads. I agreed to change them since I did not want to go against Porsche’s recommendation to replace the PSCB pads after 6 years regardless of wear status.

I have PAW and know Porsche can be tricky if you have not followed service plans and recommendations.

You are not alone, I have had the issue with my J1.2 since new in Dec 24.
That’s strange. Mine worked well all those months (August 2025-april 2026) 🤷‍♂️

Is it really a recommendation or is it a must in order to keep your approved?
My turn next year for the PCCB pads.
Wonder if it is really necessary....
