12 Volt Battery Shortage

I reached out to my dealer and got a driver training and 3 year maintenance bundle as part of some compensation for this stuff. My car was built on July 30th and has been sitting at the dealer since August 7.

Still no clue when I’m due to receive it. It does however have the Bose and electric steering column for MY22 prices, which is more important to me than MY23.

That’s nice! My dealer gave me a brand new cayenne for two weeks, which was fun!

Want to test out a theory - everyone who has a car completed but potentially waiting on battery, can you check to see if on your MyPorsche app, you can see your car with a green dot? @poppap discovered his changed to show this, potentially meaning the car is connected to the internet which might mean it has a 12V battery now since it powers the auxiliary systems. Mine is showing it as well when I checked today (also may coincidentally it says it reached emden today too)

That's pretty interesting. Don't you need to have proof of purchase in order to get the car to show up in the app? Is there a work around?

You just need to enter the VIN, which appears once your car is produced.

I also got asked for proof of ownership. I provided the build sheet I got from the dealer that has my name as the customer and commission number and they took it.

Nice to see that they didn't ask for that now.

I'm not sure exactly how you guys are getting that screen. I'm on the vehicle tab but it's only showing the TYD stuff, phase 3/4 "vehicle produced." Anywhere else I can look? MyGarage only just shows the car there too but looks different from your screenshots.


Nevermind - as usual "turning it off and back on again" worked, in the form of logging out. And yes I do have a green button! Woohoo!

What happened to me was the screen showing TYD was gone from My Porsche app/account completely so I submitted a request to add it back using the VIN through the app and Porsche added the car back to my account as if it was already delivered.

I see that it worked for you now. Great!

Yes. Had one a few weeks as I said. Actually from when I first entered the VIN and added the car. It wakes up if you leave the app on screen (default is asleep). My dealer has said it still has the stop sale battery on it, only last week.

Interesting - so your car has a battery in it right now, but is just a temporary one?

Maybe they just put a generic 12V just to keep the car running so they can move it but the actual one is still needed before delivery?
