Anyone tint the glass roof?

I’m in central fl so curious about the glass roof and heat. I see we can get screens now but I’d rather a clean look

is the roof ok in the sun? If not had anybody applied film to it?

It seems to depend on the individual. I’m in central Texas and I’m not bothered at all by the glass roof.

Ditto - Houston Tx and it is perfectly fine.

I actually thought about it at one time but not so much for IR/UV protection but for the possibility of rock chips on highways at speed hitting the thing and cracking it! Less concerned at this point.

If I do consider at any pt in future, it would more likely be STEK or equivalent for this purpose - have it on my windscreen and it most def works!

I find, during the day, I usually need to wear a hat ..I can live with that!

I like the removable shade, but yes, the sun can be very direct, and a hat is helpful.
I did steam it by now and it does not have any wrinkles from arrival since it folds.

UK Sunlight is not so much an issue as in warmer areas, but summer sun can be penetrating. One reason I optioned the VLC roof.

Easily adjustable and keeps the sun out very well, worth the extra IMO.

I haven’t been able to detect a problem with the sun just yet. I credit the insulated glass and tints for that. If I did anticipate this problem, I would probably just wear a hat as this would be only a small portion of the year where I live. In future when/if the variable roof glass becomes more sophisticated, I might consider it. I find the current implementation to be a bit goofy.

I’m in Atlanta and have never thought about tinting it. It’s never a problem and it’s amazing how they achieved the heat rejection with it.
I usually go to charge my car at lunch when it’s 95 F and it’s super comfortable in the car.

I live in Los Angeles and frequently drive during the mid-day in the summer. I have never found the panoramic roof a problem nor do I feel the need to wear a hat or buy an aftermarket sunshade.

After i did ceramic tints in all around BUT the roof the heat somehow reduced tremendously and i stopped thinking about tinting the roof

i have 20% all 4 doors, 50% windshield, 35% back glass.

i can send pics of how the car looks from inside or outside if it will help you.
I’ve seen shades for sale ( in/out ) not good looking IMO for the taycan, but honestly with the ceramic technology available you can even put a 70% on it and it wont affect the darkness at all but it will reject almost double the heat and double the UV protection.

Had the thermal roof tinted with 3M crystalline. Still experienced annoying heat transfer down here in the desert. Opted for the screen and it works perfectly.

I am in Central TX, have the thermal/acoustic glass and haven’t felt the need to tint. I was really worried about the panoramic roof, as I am extremely light sensitive (light blue eyes do not like any bright light hitting them), but have had zero issues even during mid day sun.

I have ceramic tint on all windows and windshield. I opted to not spend the extra $600 to tint the roof. I have lived without it tinted for a year and a half and finally am taking it in on Tuesday to get the roof ceramic tinted. I live in Northern CA and during the day it gets super hot after 10+ minutes in the sun. It is kinda annoying. I am hoping the ceramic tint on that giant roof will drastically reduce heat within the cabin. The light has never been a issue for me.

What % are you doing? Your what you described if you get anything higher than 50% it will defeat the purpose of it for light reduction/glare purposes
