Hello everyone,

I have had the craziest thing happen to me today and as a result I am looking for your expert tips and advice on how to prepare and what to expect at the ATL PE Center.

The story goes that I went to a local grocery store and met let's say a very high-ranking person in the local dealership network that also operates our Porsche dealership. He knows me as one of the many customers so if I see him at the dealership, which is very rare, he knows my name and would say Hi. Yes, we as family bought 5 (practical) cars in a period of 11 years, compared to some people who buy more in a year, as if to say, there is nothing special about me, whatsoever.

I am just having a coffee outside of the store and I see a Taycan Cross Turismo pull into the parking lot with dealer tags, so my first thought was, I would know whoever that is, if they work at the dealership, as everyone knows me for exceptional knowledge of the Taycan, in the large part due to this forum. I notice the trunk open and let's say, things are not well organized. He comes toward the store with his wife, and I say Hi, and he recognizes me, and we start talking, as I am thanking him for exceptional VIP service I am receiving from the dealership, which I am. Then somehow, we start talking about his wife's ICE Macan, and I say my wife loves hers, but what she also loves is the trunk organizer system that looks like this (below), and I offer it to him, that I will build, and of course gift, as many of these with color choices for any car that they may have. I am not saying that this has anything to do with what happened, I am just a helpful person, as you know me on the forum and this comes to me naturally and genuinely as I want to help and make people's lives better. This is a $15 DYI contraption that we absolutely cannot live without. I can help anyone of you if interested as everything has to specific brand, form, and size and takes 2 minutes to build, but it transforms your grocery experience forever. Taycan solution is a little different, again happy to help anyone who is interested to get exactly the right things.

So, I go home and take these pictures and send it to him, take a look, happy to come up to dealership so your wife can try it out. Well, somehow, he is telling me that he is driving to some Charlotte Porsche GMs experimental event, this is all happening same day (today). I reply saying, well I know now why I hardly ever see you at the Porsche store (not sure why they call it a store), you must be having so much fun driving Porsches all over the world.

Then this happens, he says, are you open on this day, private jet to ATL in one day and back, and will drive "performance cars on Porsche track... Let me know if you are in." My heart definitely stopped for a little while. I have never been to a track, unless you count my student days cleaning up Bristol motor speedway, after 2 races a year, and I have never been on a private jet, although I was offered may be 1 time before, but could not make it for some reason.

Now, I am freaking out and need your help, on how to prepare, what to wear, and what to know before going so I do not miss anything. Thank you for reading my long story and the post. I sure love driving all my cars but sure looking forward to learning how to drive performance cars. The dealer does not hesitate to give me to drive whatever they have on the lot, but I have no clue how to drive a performance car. Looking forward to it is an understatement.

The last thing, how many of you think he will go for my plastic contraption?

wow what a story! 5 cars in 11 years is a lot, that's a car every 2 years, IMO that's considered a frequent customer. I'd think the average customer is 1 car every 3 years. Your omni presence at the dealership helps too.

Nothing to prep though, what he's giving you is a paid single full day driving event at PEC. They should send you a welcome/confirmation email regarding what to wear, but I wouldn't sweat it. You can google pics of people who attended PEC events, shorts, t-shirt, etc works. They lend you a helmet. Be prepared for a full day of driving the GT3, GT4, Taycan/Macan Turbo S, etc on the skidpad, course, etc. They also provide food, snacks and drinks and some gift to take home. (take pics!)

Buy Peter Millar pants and shirt, and Piloti shoes. Anything less and you’ll be laughed at. No. I’m kidding. Casual attire should be fine. I’d prefer long pants for a driving event, I think. As @Flying ace said above, they’ll send you info - just follow that. And post pics when you get back!

Great story and your enthusiasm for the brand is obvious. The PEC in Atlanta is super fun. You don’t need to sweat any details. As another poster said those will be nicely organized for you. Your only job is to have fun. You can probably show up in an old t shirt and swim trunks and they will take care of you well. The instructors who will be with you in each car are top notch and accommodate drivers of all skill levels. They all want you to have a memorable experience. There is also a pretty cool museum of classic cars there that is worth checking out.

We need more details about the storage solution!
