I can't even get it working the official way (my21). It just won't connect. My 12 pro max asks to launch CarPlay, but nothing happens on the pcm unless I use a cable. Clicking on my phone in the "connect a CarPlay device" screen also does nothing.

Works just fine in my car. All you need to do is get a USB A to C adapter, and use the cable that came with the dongle. Once I connected the dongle that way, I was able to update the sw by using my iPhone and the IP link that was provided in the instructions. Works great.

But I still want Porsche to provide the integrated solution that was promised.

Where does everyone store their phone when using CarPlay wirelessly?
The Qi Charger in the center console just seems so cumbersome to use on a consistent basis so intrigued if you are using another method
I tried the wireless charger and it just overheats they phone which eventually crashes CarPlay anyway ?

So, phone in pocket and no issues, until the battery gets low ?

Update on Carplay2 Air- after 2 months, mine completely stopped working. I contacted customer support and they are worthless. They had me download an update that did nothing. I asked for a refund or a new unit. The only way I could get a new unit was to send my existing unit to some location in China at my cost. Needless to say, in today’s world I am not going to a post office or spending any more on a $100 unit. I guess it is buyer beware. Maybe Porsche will actually come out with a software update and we can all get wireless CarPlay as promised.

Did it literally die? Or was it not accepting a connection? Kind of curious to know what exactly I should be expecting.

My Carplay2Air is still working (after about 1.5 months), so I hope it lasts until we get wireless CarPlay enabled! :fingerscrossed:

Died. Although the red light is with the device, it no longer displays on my car. Nothing on the screen and no connection to the phone. I have also put in a new USB to USB c adaptor. I know that car play does work because when my phone is plugged in via cable no problem at all.

@Marshall
Had a very similar situation happen to me last week after using for the past month
It was useless, would show power with the red light but that was it
I removed it from the car, brought it inside and did a reset to the unit
I deleted any wifi or bluetooth connections on my phone, basically forcing the unit to find my phone as new again
I repeated the process in the car removing anything related to CarPlay and my phone
I then hard connected my phone to power in the car and set CarPlay as active
I then unplugged my phone and plugged in the wireless unit and setup as new again in the car
Its been working flawless (TOUCH WOOD) since

I did this once, too. It has worked well since.

plug in unit for power
Type in web address to connect to the device from your phone
Once connected it will give you an option to reset as well to update the FW

OK, stupid question for the day, how do I do a hard reset?

I have to ask, which website. I don't recall doing that when I got the unit.
