BTW, I only just realized that depending on which exact groove I measure, there seems to be a clear difference in depth -- perhaps by design. Next time I gotta make sure to measure the same exact grooves for each tire to have a better Apples-Apples comparison.

Replying to my own post from 1.5 years ago.

I got Michelin Pilot Sport 4 NF0 replacements from Costco, and they lasted 19 months / 16k miles of hard driving when these pictures were taken. I loved the performance, but maybe should have done an alignment in between.

For what it's worth, here are the new results. Already getting new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (non NF0) for the fronts next.

And here’s the alignment data to go with the wear. Notice that my front left inside worn out a lot even though the camber on that side is actually in spec. Lesson learned is... either the alignment measurement machine is off, or wheel alignment and tire wear are much more complicated than just "more negative camber causes inside tire to wear more". :)

My lease company, Porshce/VW, insisted on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 NF0 when the last set of Pirelli's wore out on the rear. Seemed odd as the Mcihelin's cost more, however tyres are their responsibility so I suspect it was down to wear rates, on the Pirelli's best I would get is c. 10k miles. I now have different tyres on front vs rear

Your toe alignment is out of whack. Based on those numbers, the car will be pulling to the right since the front right has toe out and the front left has toe in. Even if you were to center the car the car with the steering wheel, your front wheels will both be pointed outward which is leading to the increased wear. There's also a tiny bit of toe out in the rear, but something that I would consider enough to have much of a factor. If you were to take the vehicle in for alignment, I would suggest that you have them zero out the toe in the front.

Based on the tread measurement in the rear, I'd also suggest maybe 2-3 more PSI in the rear if you want to even out the inside / outside wear rate.

I’ve been running around -3 psi on the PCM display and I don’t see any wear issues on the insides, intact possibly more wear on the outside. Need to get a measure and check properly. Could be very sensitive to pressures?

Don’t be so sure it’s camber. My service guy said it’s the tire using different compounds on the inner treads.

I replaced with PS4S without doing an alignment, and the new tires are wearing evenly.
How do your tires last? Still driving in sport+ or in normal?

Mostly normal. Sport+ if I want to launch it.

I got my PS4S at 8941 miles.
Currently at 16608.

Holding up fine from what I see.

Same here - 15 000 Miles, good to change 4 tires and check geometry.
Kind of scary...from the outside tires looks just fine...
Both rear looks the same, front slightly better.

What year and model is it?
And which tyres?

With us being on longer service schedules than ICE, it's easy to overlook issues that a service advisor would have caught. For example, I left the house this morning and got a low tire warning. The pressure dropped visibly before my eyes so I turned around and got it into the garage safely.

I had no idea the tires were this worn at ~10500 miles.

I'll have to call roadside assistance for this one. :(

This is not as extreme as a number of other member reports, but it is a real problem, and I'm not sure we know what is going on. It is definitely NOT the alignment, but could be related to the lowest setting or 4ws, just not sure what is causing this.

Mine had acceptable tread depth across all treadwear markers and failed on the inner shoulder. My summer tires were checked at the switchover and they were 'fine', then failed due to an air leak a couple months later. The inner cord of both tires was pretty much destroyed, and couldn't be seen unless you got down under the car. People definitely need to check this regularly and make sure your dealer does as well.

I just had my car in Porsche and got the ol' "This tyre looks like it's been run flat because it has wear on the outside", which I will state now: it absolutely has not. It may have got to lowest 37 PSI, but that is not a low pressure (21" on Goodyear Eagle Asym), at all, especially as the PSI fluctuates with temperature anyway.

Mine are 11-12k miles and at 4mm on the front.

They offered me new tyres at £100 per corner over black circle prices, but I will wait until summer once I've swapped the winters in and then back out

I know that manufactures wont take responsibility for this but I dont see how this is anything but a poor alignment from the factory. I know that there are other possible scenarios but I consider them unlikely.

Keep a very close eye on them. They will wear very quickly from this point IME.
