Question really over the moon with the car so much so thinking of placing order for Turbo when do you think Porsche will update Taycan so do I Place order now or what is Porsche cycle for new models

If I may ask, what’s your rationale for switching to a Turbo from a 4S? Real world, there’s little noticeable difference in performance and the waiting list, given the factory shutdown and waiting list, is likely going to see you waiting 12 months. New model year Taycan’s typically launch Aug/Sep and, given the focus on the new electric Macan and 718, plus demand, I wouldn’t expect many updates to the Taycan before 2024. I’d expect mild cosmetic changes for MY25, and an all new Taycan around 2028 taking into account new battery technology targeted for commercialisation around that time.

My own plans are to build a new relationship with a new dealer for a 992.2 Carrera S for delivery early 24 plus maybe a new electric Macan in the hope of getting in a 992.2 GT3 Touring thereafter. That the 992.2 is apparently returning to N/A rather than turbocharged and the fact that the 992.2 GT3 will be the first GT3 hybrid are the next exciting things on the horizon for me.

I just got a notification that my 4S is now scheduled for production. Anyone else seeing movement on their orders? Or is this just an automated thing and production is still paused?

I have the app and the online account but cannot see the car i ordered in December 2021. The vehicle isnt under orders when i tried to add vehicle. How do you add the vehicle?

Your dealer should be able to help.

I ordered 6th Sept but I’ve been stuck in phase 2 for ages

I was sent an email from Porsche cars Great Britain telling me to either log into my Porsche or create an ID. I already had one created being impatient, but when I logged in it was there. Maybe it’s a case of the Porsche centre you ordered with are yet to process your order fully. I would reach out to them.

I ordered 8th Sep 2021. Was told March for delivery at the time. I sat at phase 2 for ages. Prob since Jan.

That sound pretty optimistic. I think most people ordering in September were quoted 2023. Maybe yours is March 2023??

Certainly not, and you wouldn’t have a notification saying scheduled for production a whole 18 months before ? Don’t Know where you’re getting your info from but it’s not accurate.

I ordered 6th Sept - was told Feb or March 2022.

Scheduled build slot for May 2022

Of course it seems like a shifting build date is something that happens frequently, but things are slowly moving forwards.

What I really want to hear is anyone that was in production (i.e. end Feb/first week March) and whose completion date was pushed a month but is now completed (i.e. like mine, but now due to be completed mid April but the date it was pushed to seems wholly arbitrary)

Can you remember how long a gap it was from when yours went from scheduled to in build?

2 months ish. Dealer said, hey good news you have a build slot - it is (date in February).

You're the same dates as me.

Was in the other day though to put final spec down and they said June at the very earliest now but it could be up to 6 months due to the cable loom / Ukraine factory issue.

They're trying to find another supplier but that doesn't happen overnight.

I could see it being Sept / Oct now at this point unless production suddenly starts again immediately.
