Today I retuned the Macan loaner and I filled up for the same amount as the Taycan cost me to fill up to 90% at home.
For $11 I was able to get 2 gallons of gas but was 15 gallons away from a full tank.

Kind of amazing I think. Just to refresh our memory.

Yes, I do remember that moment. Back in early August. Filled up with the equivalent of almost 600 miles of range in far less than six minutes. Conducted no research in advance. No worries about whether I would have to wait for an available pump, or whether the pump would work.
(Overall, charging at home is of course far better than stopping at a gas station. But CCS1 DCFC in the Northeast is an EV hater's parody. Except for the Tesla Magic Docks of course.)

Didn’t fill my 1991 964 C2 at today’s trip to the fossil station, it was just too damn expensive. Winter is coming too, so fresh carbon in the spring. Miles in a Taycan are amazingly cost effective and

for me, with a utility that is carbon free, mostly clean except road trips at EA.

Yesterday, my Taycan is still in the shop :( Almost 2 weeks now.

But it’s scheduled to come home on Monday!

Yes. I regularly fill ICE cars still. Sometimes multiple times a day.

I only tax my sports car for the summer, I never put the roof up.
This summer the Taycan was still a novelty so I didn't bother, so the last time would have been summer 2022.
OTOH we also have plug in hybrids, one of which has a plug in range of around 30-36 miles so almost never runs the petrol engine, I last put petrol in that one in Spring when I was filling up the fuel cans for my garden tractor, hedge cutter and strimmer. It didn't -need- petrol but it felt like the polite thing to do. Its previous refuel was November 2022.
To be honest I don't notice the price - it is what it is and there is nothing I can do about it.

Yes I painfully filled up my Aston the other day with fresh high octan fuel. 160 Euro for 75 litres! That felt painful. And since I only had driven the car locally the mpg was horrible, absolutely horrible.

For the same amount of money for energy, I could have driven the Taycan from Nice to Stockholm almost!!

I know none of us bought a Taycan to actually save money but there is just something in paying <2€ per 100km instead of 12-25€, especially when the cost gets lost in monthly household electricity costs.
it's even better if you get paid to charge it.
Electricity are negative in the UK tonight.

Every couple of months, I go the the gas station to get gas for my ICE lawn mowers. It already feels like a novelty and I get looks from the other drivers at the station as if I was an alien.

Is there a separate cost in UK in using the grid / transition of electricity? At least thats how it works around here and the cost is never truly negative because of this cost.

I bought a battery-powered [<edit!] mower for that reason!
