You are the first person I have heard of who has been given a confirmed UK ST GTS build-slot. I am supposedly #1 at my dealer and have been told not to expect anything until summer onwards. They seemed to think that would be UK-wide.

yes they seem to be few and far between right now, but yes confirmed slot late May.. did you get confirmation from your OPC this week?

May = MY22

MY23 would be from late July / early August lock down for Oct delivery.

I’m lead to believe that all customer ordered GTS ST tricking though from late may/ early June will be MY23.. it’s happened before, the switchover is not so set in stone…

Not sure that is correct - where did you get that information?

All Porsche MYs change late summer for Q3 onwards delivery in my experience.

Taycan has since launch so why would it change now?

I'm interest to know what the current lease terms are, and the interest rate & 3-year or 4-year residual values.

Direct from Porsche (Silverstone) barely even two weeks ago on a 4S CT specced to £121k. Finance guy told me they don't have the finance workings for any ST model as it's only just been released, but it would be "very similar" to the CT.

That VALUE is within range of my spec for a GTS ST that last weekend I put a deposit down for.

The above is what you should expect on a GTS ST.

I'm buying via my company and have decided to buy it outright in cash, because it's cheaper and I'm not anticipating huge depreciation based on:

1. Continuing wait times; Porsche buyers are wealthy and happy paying a premium if it means speeding up time to get the car they want sooner
2. GTS model is likely to hold value better vs 4S which is by far the most popular model
3. No particularly exciting EV's in the same class as the Taycan are to be released before latter 2025 (I plan to sell the vehicle for tax reasons no later than Q1 2025)
4. New battery tech won't be readily available until 2026 at the very earliest, more likely end of this decade.

If I understand correctly, the residual value is assessed on the basic cost before options? So if your S4 CT is a £90k car with a £55k ballon, that's a 60% residual value after 3 years?

It's around 45% residual value after 36 months with depreciation of the options factored in.

Or in other words, the vehicle value is expected to be c£55,000.

However, from what I understand reading these forums, Porsche residuals on PCP are purposely set very low, so that your car on PX is always worth more. You then have a chunky sum to put down as a deposit on your next Porsche. The money train then rolls on. Those Germans are extremely clever with their pricing and valuation models.

What complicates things is this is an EV, so it's a gamble from the finance company (Porsche) and from the customer over whether finance or cash purchase is the better deal.

I am gambling on the latter, but then I need to sell my GTS ST before April 2025 for company tax reasons, so it makes the decision easier based on my financial situation.

That's exactly how I see it.
The example had an extreme £33k of options that were of minimal impact on the RV, and if the price including those were taken in to account, the %RV would be down to 45%. It's God's way of telling you to build from a more expensive variant that needs less spent on options to get the same features. ?

That is in line with what the DP at Porsche Reading told me middle of this month: Q4 2023, with a current order book of 25 cars ?

And Porsche Hatfield said the same: Q4 2023.

Before checking this, I put down a deposit for a GTS ST beginning of this month at Porsche Leicester.

They told me 12-15 months before delivery. I checked with them again after what Reading and Hatfield told me.

My dealer was adamant it was 12-15 months. I wonder if Sytner-owned dealerships have earlier allocation for some unknown reason.

It might be worth speaking to Porsche Leicester and/or putting down a deposit there instead.

My OPC (Newcastle) took my deposit (ST) in the summer and have told me that mine will be their first... no estimated date until they are given their allocation of course.

Not yet, I spoke to my dealer last week and he said they are still waiting for first customer build slots to land on their handling board... I think they're as much in the dark as we are!

I guess the overall situation is compounded now with the impact of the fire on the Felicity Ace and the 1300+ Taycans to be rebuilt (never mind the Bentley's and Lambos). All our deliveries will be impacted I would expect.

My theory: I wonder if Porsche dealers are purposefully providing obscene estimated delivery dates for GTS ST orders where:

- Some buyers haven't added as many options as others (£20k+ sweet spot for an expedited build?), meaning the dealer can get bigger commissions sooner and it helps amortise Porsche's R&D sooner as well.
- They want to shift older models like the 4S CT (oversupply) and Turbo (soon to be sunset?) knowing that is where GTS ST buyers will go next save an invented "two year" wait. Porsche Reading were pushing both models on me when explaining the GTS ST delivery date was "Q4 2023".
- Smaller dealers, like those in Scotland, will have a tiny allocation for what is likely to be a limited production run vehicle before the next Taycan model is released (2026?)

1,300 Taycan's can be built in less than two weeks, so I can't imagine it would add 6-12 months to estimated delivery dates for everyone else's build.

I also see is a good thing: the GTS ST is going to remain a highly desirable model owing to classic human psychological flaws: scarcity, urgency, price perception.
