How to reboot PCM?

thanks for the reply. i tried in park. i drove around to get better service.

i had the problem for3 days. then finally late yesterday. it resolved it self AFTER i made an appointment...

My experience and the anecdotal reports of others is that pending or in-process updates can cause the volume to freeze at -1. I suggest you check that automatic updates is enabled and allow updates to complete before reseting the PCM.

I once read you have to klick in one edge with 2 fingers. Could not find it anymore, would be handy to use while driving.

I tried and finally figured out how to Reset the PCM. It is the top right hand corner of the center console, but I made a youtube video that should make this easier. Here is the link.

I did a reboot the other day while driving down the road, did not need to park.

When my PCM NAV went nuts. I tried the 2-finger reboot, didn't fix the NAV, but I tried the engineering screen. You really can't do anything there, and nothing to break. One was update, and you have to have a USB flash drive with updates plugged in. It looks for it and will time out. Other was software version info. Not much geeking around in engineering boot.

It took me several tries using two fingers up near the time. It seems to be very particular and your fingers need to be side by side horizontally on my screen. I noticed in the video that is how he did it and it worked for me. So don't have them staggered.

I'm hoping this reset will fix a problem I'm having with the Sirius XM app not operating. I was getting a pop-up saying I had to agree to a subscription change but now the SiriusXM logo is grayed out.

Only other thing to do is lock the car and let it sit for a bit or pull the cable on the 12v battery.

That might do the trick but I’d try pulling the PCM fuse first. It’s easy to find which fuse in the manual.

there is also an advanced way to reset the PCM by using the Taycanizer tool. https://www.taycanizer.com/

and enter this in the tinker section

it will perform a "key on/off reset" without entering the engineering menu and will be therefor faster.

there should be a big button for that as default in the next major release if Porsche does not improve that silly MIB3.
