Happened to me yesterday. Got to work and never got it home... she got towed to the shop. :(

Something of note, this was preceded by the "turtle" icon about one month prior. I wonder if that was an early sign that there was going to be a battery problem? That error was gone and the car was working normally after about 10 minutes of driving, but I can't help but think the two are linked...

Porsche has a real issue with these batteries…I’m surprised there hasn’t been a class action lawsuit.

My car is now at Porsche Mechanicsburg since first week of February with Red Alert. Repairs to start in late April, so they say. 4900 miles, 2020 Turbo and CPO. This happens two weeks after I bought it for the 1st time? Please…
Only fixing defective cells per advisor…really pissed at Porsche and I’m a two time Porsche guy

It's complete garbage. My tech advisor said they ordered parts and then they'll schedule the "flying doctor" who is the only person who can repair the battery for the entire northeast US?

That's just not good enough.

Yup same thing…only one guy can fix Taycan batteries in the entire Northeast for Porsche?

Since we're all moaning, mine went into the dealership back in Nov. 2023. Tentatively scheduled for the technician to work on it first week of April. PNW region.

Are they just waiting for the warranty to end? ;)

I am at a loss to understand how they prioritize …… but my 4S went in and they had it back to me in three weeks (19 days) and replaced three battery modules. …….. Interestingly, they told me they no longer need to run the car through two discharge cycles (and add 500 miles to it) as part of the recommissioning process.

Anyway in my case my SoH went from 83% just prior to the red circle of death and now sit at 89% after I have completed two 85% to 10% discharge recharge cycles.

I am in SoCal.

I hope not. cause then it'll be another 5 years of waiting. To be fair, I think my situation is a bit more unique than others. First time that the dealership had to do this work.

Almost exactly what my situation was.

Wow, are you saying that after battery refurbishment, your SoH is now 89%? When my HV battery failed last year, the replacement had 99% SoH, and it has not dropped appreciably since then.

Correct - I only had 3 of 33 modules replaced remember - there is no way that replacing 3 of 33 modules would get a 4 yr old battery in hot climes only using fast Dc chargers to 99% from 83% - I am shocked that any battery has stayed at 99% after a year of use - but not possible for one that simply had modules replaced ......

I had two bad cells and the dealership decided to replace the pack instead of swapping modules based on their recent bad experience: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/t...t-is-electrical-system-error.7163/post-281193
Today my SoH has dropped to 99.44% in the three months since the pack was replaced. (SoH was 99.82% when I brought it home.)

I'm starting to aggregate and track all of these threads in the Electric Sidecar issue tracker, given how many of these failures are going on: https://github.com/ElectricSidecar/Porsche-Taycan/issues/15.

Total number of failures tracked so far is 22. If you experience other failures you can submit them via the link.
