My battery range says 208 miles… shouldn't it be 250 miles?

Just collected my taycan rwd with the plus battery. Range says 208… I was under the illusion it should be more 250 odd. Any ideas??
It will take several hundred miles and several charges to get a Performance Battery Plus up to around 225 miles perhaps 235 miles (still mild.and so ambient will help) in UK. When it gets cold 5C or less expect around 220 @ 100%

Nothing to do with recuperation etc

Note that any reading is an estimate and therefore you should monitor the consumption more than the guesstimate of range. A figure of 3.3 miles / kWh would indicate an actual range of around 259 miles (your battery charge display will never show this).

Thx - most owners in North America get higher estimated range than we do in UK (and elsewhere) and notably people who live in Florida.
.
What is your average consumption over the mileage covered to date?

Mine showed 190 (winter, 8C)
It was a similar temperature here, but what could have influenced it was a 160 km round trip sat at 100 km/h just before I charged.

Be patient.
You have to make a couple of thousand miles.
When i got my car, my average consumption was 24-25kwh/100km, while it drops down to 19kwh/100km…i don’t remember when, but i think after about 10k kms….

I'm fine with the range, but it's good to know it will probably get better.

Exactly one week ago I collected my RWD Taycan with the Performance Battery Plus and 21" RS Spyder rims. I've driven it 326 km in those seven days, with mixed driving. I charged it back to 100% last night, and the range is now predicted to be 360 km, which is 224 miles.

Since collecting the car, I charged it twice (once to try the Ionity charger near Liege, and the second time to charge it up to 100%). The figures are below:

Distance driven: 307.0 km
Power added: 88.07 kWh
Average cost per kWh to charge: €0.16
Total cost of the charges: €14.14
Actual power consumption: 28.7 kWh/100km
Cost per km: 4.6 € ct/km

I did a 150 km drive along a flat highway at 100 km/h, and the trip computer came back with a figure of around 20.6 kWh/100km, which would give a theoretical range of 406 km (252 miles).
0.16 Euros to charge. My that's cheap. In the UK my off-peak rate is now 0.33 and charging out and about is £0.55 approx per Kw.

Yeah, it is cheap. The €0.16 per kWh is the average of the two charges, which includes one Ionity charge at a rate of €0.33 per KWh, and the charge at my place of employment, which is €0.11 per kWh, including VAT.

August because you did a reset of Total trip data in august, november : data since august reset and today

My CT4 screen:
Porsche Taycan My battery range says 208 miles… shouldn't it be 250 miles? conso 10 11 2021

3.8 mi/kw (16.3 kwh/100km) is a wrong data , the right number is about 20.7 kwh/100km, for 12 month, including winter in the alps.
The energy corresponding to charging sessions : out of Porsche charging service or at home , is missing in the calculation ....
Home charges made when the Porsche connect network was out of service (in july in Europe) are also missing.
07.09 is the uPdate day and 3.3 miles/kwh is the correct number .

I did not remember resetting it. Must have been when I did the big software update.

Ok so your consumption is not great. My average since new and 18000 miles is 3.3 miles / kWh.

The point here is that the headline battery display range is generally not to be relied upon and why I always ask people for their consumption numbers as a reality check.

My driving is all around town. I rarely have a trip of more than 30 miles. Usually stop and go traffic and some highway trips to downtown. I definitely "stretch its legs" any chance I get and on the highway. I would say my driving style and always in Sport Plus is the reason for the sub-par consumption. But I enjoy driving it! :)
