So, after a long long wait, I am told my Taycan CS is in production. I need to sort a couple of things out in readiness....

Charger - after a little research was going to go with a Zappi 2. Reviews/price seem fine (I will be moving next year so don't want to spend too much).

Charging - am I correct in thinking I get some discount with charging? If so who, most charging will be at home but inevitably some road trips.

Boot liners - does anyone make an aftermarket boot liner? I have ordered the Porsche mat but dog will occasionally be on the back so something to protect the sides, and also which folds overrear bumper to avoid any scratches when he gets in/out.

If you are moving next year why not just get a 32A commando socket installed and use the PMC + that comes with the car?
The circuit needs to be protected with an RCBO Type A, I also added surge protection to make it 18th edition compliant and use double pole RCBO so it can be used with any EVSE, (not strictly necessary as PMC + has a double pole dc protection built in) No need to notify your DNO (I checked with mine,SSE, so no need for electrian to fill in all the forms again saving money.
Ionity chargers are half price for 3 years.

I have had a zappi2 fir last two years works well and can be set to only charge using low cost night time tariff
I have an octopus go account reduced night rates 0.30. -04.30 send me a pm and I can send you a link think you have to prove you have an EV or one in order
But as also suggested a blue 32A single phase “ commando” socket will give you the same charge rate 7.2a on a Uk single phase 240v supply using the Porsche mobile charger
IONITY chargers are half price - you need to apply for card - your dealer can assist but new taycans are plug and charge - but still 30p per kw so more expensive than std rate home charging
Not many high speed IONITY chargers
Other +250 kw chargers are available but can be 75p per kw
If you can charge at home ( or work) do so and only use public chargers for long trips

The porsche boot liner is made of rigid plastic and is quite hard and slippery. Certainly wouldn't put the dog in there without a bed or similar. It would also benefit from a sheet of rug grip (for hard floors) underneath - which i use in my other car. Otherwise dog might fall out......

As for charger - I'm happy with Wallbox pulsar, was pretty cheap and compact and app controls all pretty useful.
I also have a 32 amp commando socket at another property. Cheaper to install (a regular electrician can do the wiring and you don't have to buy the evse unit), but may be a better occasional solution unless you plan to leave porsche charge permanently charged in.

Why purchase another EVSE in addition to the EVSE (Porsche Mobile Charger Plus (PMC+)) you get with the car - seems like a waste of money?

Whatever you decide to do you'll need to get a 32A fused supply from your fuse box to where you place your EVSE (will work for any EVSE you end up installing).

You will get a Taycan Charge Card for the Porsche Charging service which provides discounted rates at Porsche and other providers (e.g. Ionity, Osprey etc). Note that this isn't as great a deal as it sounds and Porsche charge you for power can for charging time at their charging locations (around 70p !!!) so likely you'll use others based on speed of charging offered and availability. Source other providers cards - Shell, BP, etc - avoid paying a monthly subscription and consider PAYG if you plan on charging predominately at home.

I don't think Ionity charge for time, so that is pretty decent value (better than my domestic rate). Porsche centres at an additional 44p per minute is a total rip.

Side question: I very rarely charge away from home. When i did use ionity, i thought i had plug and charge set up, but i still needed to use the porsche card to start charging. Does plug and charge work in the UK?

For longer road trips I normally use Ionity. The discount makes a lot of difference and they are rarely full. Could be due to high price for non discount users. Plug and charge now works seamlessly too.
I have recently received an Electric Universe card however. This allows one tap with most other chargers and just bills my Octopus Electricity house account.

For dogs on back sets, we use an Orvis dog cover. They have lots of options and are great quality.

Thanks for answers all. I didn't realise I could just use a commando socket - seems the easiest solution. Will register for Octopus go tariff - also have a battery on order so I can charge both on the off peak rate.
Is the Porsche mobile charger plus an option or standard? Can't remember ordering one.

Yeah I was referring to Porsche Charging for charging for time.

As for plug and charge, in my experience, no BUT I rarely use the service (hens teeth are more common).

Standard equipment ?

It's worth shopping around with local electricians as I found installation costs varied a bit.
If your home consumer unit is in a convenient location and has a spare way they can wire to that and insert an RCBO type A. Mine is in the centre of the house so they tapped the tails from the meter using a Henley block and installed a garage consumer unit and ran two 16mm circuits to the commando sockets. I decided to put one either side of the garage positioned so I can charge in the garage or out on the drive.
Fusebox are the cheapest consumer units. If you only want one commando socket they do a really neat garage consumer unit. With 2 sockets I needed to get a 6 way consumer unit.

Plug and charge has always worked for me at Ionity - MY22 is that makes a difference.

Great thread as I’ve done sweet FA on my home charging set up yet and my ST is due late Dec this year ( so this means Jan 23 to me :() so watching with interest.

If I go for this commander set up then I’ll need an industrial style, non tethered cable which from the comments above comes as standard with the Taycan. Correct?

the connection will be inside my garage but the car will likely be some 10m away from the garage door, so suspect the cable that comes with the car won’t be long enough - so I’ll need something like this. If true, is this the kind of thing the fitting electrician can supply?

On the boot liner, I’ve pre-warned swmbo to order one of these from eBay. Seems to get good reviews and for £27, if it’s garbage I haven’t lost that much.
