PCM Issue: Apple Music/Podcasts fail with "Data Package Error."

And here I thought fighting with the radio was behind me.

A day or so ago, Music and Pocast icons both greyed out, and now neither will launch throwing this error.

I had to open a ticket with Porsce on this. Sigh.

I've spent more time just trying to make the radio play music on these Taycans...

Same. I also have rear seat entertainment with data for the kids in the back, and all of a sudden I can’t mirror or stream to those screens either. Any fix so far?

This is an old post. It resolved itself after a couple of days. No idea if Porsche fixed it on their end.

What happens after you press the “activate” button?

I spoke to Porsche today as I collected my car on Saturday but I've not been able to get any battery etc updates in the My Porsche app.

The whole Porsche connect API has been up and down since Thursday, and that's causing issues across the board.

@Richs99 - Good to know. I’m back in Africa and have been having the same issue with My Porsche. I’ve managed to connect once since Saturday but get the zzzz and red button icons most of the time.

What happens after you press the “activate” button?

You get the same pop up and get to decide if you want to hit the button again. Repeat ad nauseum

This is a one time connection thing and via Bluetooth is fine to get AA running.

So your car can’t activate Bluetooth or Wi-Fi? My car turned both services on when I saw that message pop up (and the message never came back).

On any given day, one of three things is about equally likely to happen:

• PCM never fully boots the UI (sits on a spinning circle)
• Bluetooth/WiFi turns on, but only after about 5-10m of driving
• The aforementioned "Activate" screen keeps popping up, and Bluetooth/WiFi never works

The same thing frequently happens to me too even though I've activated both Apple Music and Apple Podcasts on the My Porsche webpage and via the PCM and the QR code. It's annoyingly intermittent, but it was working yesterday.

I have a theory though--are those services dependent on active Porsche servers somewhere or are they entirely independent? I have a sneaking suspicion that when the servers that are dedicated to the PCM go down, those “connected” services go down too.
