How to find out if my Taycan has performance battery plus equipped? I know I paid ~$6k for it 😂 … but the miles I get on full charge doesn’t justify that I have it. Currently I am driving a brand new loaner and its same model as I have which is RWD, but it has very less upgrades compared to mine and I see it has range of 220-230 miles on full charge without performance battery plus on it. Now I am scratching my head as I get the same range of miles on full charge with performance battery plus. Now I am questioning if they forgot to put the performance battery plus .. can they… would they? Driving me crazy 😛.

The standard battery is called Performance Battery. You must be referring to the Performance Battery Plus.

How many miles do you have?
It will increase with time and the more distance you cover.

five of many option:

1. charge your car at a CCS DC charger that shows the actual battery voltage. if it shows >800V at 100% then it's the bigger 94 kWh battery.

2. check the same SoC and voltage with ABRP and an OBD dongle

3. use the same OBD dongle and an sophistcated Taycan logging tool (https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/bizarre-whistleblower-claims-“60-of-all-delivered-taycan-have-battery-issues-that-caused-replacements-damages-and-fires”.7809/page-15#post-120502 and https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/deep-look-into-charging-a-cold-battery.8670/)

4. empty your battery as far as possible and fully charge it to see how much energy you put into it.

5. put your car on a scale and check the weight

Very simple either ask your dealer to print of the options list for your car (based on VIN) or review your spec on My Porsche web site (not app). Click 'About my vehicle', scroll to 'Technical Data' then click 'All technical Data' and the option will be listed there if fitted.

Don't panic - The time of year is too much of a coincidence!
That Perf Batt + will definitely be there, just shivering the last 5 months!
Freezing cold winter in the windy city has crushed yr range.
The loaner has coincided with the arrival of Spring and now the windy city, I bet, is mighty pretty.
Temperature makes a HUGE difference.
I have been using a VW id3 last 3 months, waiting for a GTS, which has been a grim, sobering experience after a Taycan 4S. 150 mile range when cold.
Spring has arrived in England - even up North! Now id3 range is 250
I am considering turning off the central heating but I dont want to be too hasty and upset my wife.
It may even be spring in Scotland soon!
Cruising gently around Illinois looking Coooool in Range mode with suspension gangsta low
(assuming you got Air Suspension) yr Taycan can do 300+ miles
Trust me - I got 325 out of my 4S summer '21
Have fun!

I live in Chicago and literally have been wondering the same thing about my taycan and plus battery spec. The temp input makes so much sense as I’ve been staring at 215 range all winter.
Just another reason to dream about summer I suppose.

Log into my.porsche.com and there's an option to download your Monroney sticker. It will be listed on there.

Interesting. I am in San Diego, and cold here is usually a warm day in Chicago. I have P+ battery and my range has taken a huge hit here. I was getting 250-60, but now get 220-30. Will be interested to see when it ”warms” up here to see if it makes difference. The range I am quoting is when I am in normal mode.

Did a 92 mile trip yesterday, battery went from 70% to 40%. I make that 307 miles on a full charge if I kept that up. Of course, the battery SoC readings could be inaccurate. The car said my consumption was 3.4 miles per kWh which is only 285 miles on a full charge

Go on then, I will give you the details!
Its not just you, no one believes me!

You do need need patience and the right circumstances
4S - 20 inch wheels - no electric ports - Perf battery +
Just me in the car at 72k/160lbs/11 stone 6
No luggage or charging apparatus in the car. No Bose sub woofer or amps!
Just a bottle of water and some Haribo

Summer 2021 perfect UK conditions. DRY! Optimal battery temp but not too hot so Range mode and eco plus climate perfectly comfortable. A/C compressor off. No heating. Just fresh (ish) air
It was a there and back again no cheating!
Lancashire to Lincolnshire to visit a friend in a hospice during Covid.
I had a fixed hour window for visiting so left loads of time for journey to make sure I didn't miss the allocated slot.
Weekday heavy traffic on M62 and A1M but no hold ups so cruised at about 60mph.
Nothing to be gained by fighting in the fast lane on and off the pedals to go a bit faster and get stressed.
Trick is no regen and never braking as we all know the kinetic energy of momentum is always more efficient than any regen gained from braking.

Rather be in the Taycan than hospice waiting room so why gun it and then sit in the car park?
Got there and had done 165 miles and had 51% battery remaining.
The trip shows efficiency improves massively when things have warmed up.
Once up and running the car was consistently reading slightly better than 4miles per KW (Or 25Kw per 100 miles if you prefer)
Could have bombed home but I thought lets get home without charging so pottered
back just to see if I could and I did!
I would have got home later going faster with a charge stop!
Took photos but then deleted them by mistake so no proof!
Tesla Bjorn got 360 miles out of a 4S with 19" wheels

You have thrown the gauntlet down so now I will have to do it again this summer!
Its going to be harder in a GTS with 21" but I will have a go and post the photos right here!

Going to France 4 up with a Roof box in July so it wont be on that trip!
Also I am going to do the North Coast 500 in November!
The efficiency challenge will not be on that trip either!

Cheers

Just realised my photo is in the car park in Lincoln that day.
So I can date the trip - Tuesday 3rd August 2021

Not particularly scientific - what range is reported when charged to 100%?

Consumption is excellent.
