All. Getting the Taycan 4S. Is the performance battery worth $5k? Seems like you only get another 22 miles of range. Horsepower?

More horsepower but also more weight. I don't think there is a real performance difference. Also for range, if you charge at home and rarely do long trips then it's really not needed either.

The additional range will provide comfort to some - even though it is incremental and rarely (if ever) required. On th other hand, lighter vehicles are superior in most respects, and after all Porsche is renowned for light cars. From that point of view, I would gladly pay $6k for a lighter car… but paying $6k for extra weight that I may never benefit from… no thanks.

Thank you. One clarification -- is the extra weight a good thing? Doesn't sound like it is worth the extra 50 hP or certainly the extra mileage

I've ordered without as for my usage it didn't make sense and I spent the money elsewhere. These cars are heavy anyway so whilst the extra range is good, my view (and it is personal and based on your use profile) was it didn't make sense.

I do think there maybe a resale value impact but I'm leasing (salary exchange scheme) so resale doesn't matter to me.
