I'm finally sending this email.

It's confirmed! The battery is installed and my car is now being prepared for delivery.

Here are the milestones:
  1. Signed purchase: 25 november 2021
  2. Allocation: 11 march
  3. Production: 14 july
  4. Arrived @ dealer (without the battery) 29 july
  5. battery installation 27 October

Thank you all for the emotional support. ?

To all the others still without news, do not desespere. All the bad feelings I had created due to the waiting process (so much that I started to doubt my decision about the car and even about Porsche) are gone.
Great news! Do send some pictures pls! ?

My battery has arrived at the dealer. I’m hoping to pick up the car beginning of next week. So happy! Can’t wait.
Great, very happy for you! I picked mine yesterday and can confirm that one tends to forget the troubles quickly after starting driving it... ?

Seems like batteries are starting to come in @f1eng hang on tight. My car is now getting the VR19.0.1 software uPdate. Hopefully that goes well and I can pick it up.

My 4S was completed 9/17….current delivery is 12/9. Coming through Baltimore. Delayed 4 times thus far. Order place 4/22 scheduled for early July production. Order was changed to MY23 on the first delay. Now just waiting on 12v but has not been transported to Port of Emden yet.
As you know my car completed its build in June 2022 and has been awaiting the 12v battery like so may others. Well good news - its has had the 12v battery fitted and is now at the port awaiting collection and delivery to UK, with the dealer telling delivery to me will be early December this year!

Still waiting ...
I guess we'll all have to be patient and hope these 12V batteries get produced a little faster. Mine should have rolled out of the factory on September 16th, and is either sitting in a storage parking lot somewhere in Stuttgart, or at D'Ieteren (B)??‍♂
For me the biggest problem is the lack of communication from Porsche AG. In Belgium we just have to believe what the dealer says. No tracking of the car possible here...

Porsche should add a new program - "ACTUALLY track you car". Everyone who places an order, gets a free Apple Air Tag to pair with their phone at the dealership at the time of receiving an allocation,. The air tag is then sent to the factory to be placed in the car once produced. IIRC there is an Android client for AirTags as well. The battery life of an AirTag should be longer than allocated order to delivery times, one would hope. Let Apple do the work for tracking, free up Porsche engineers to do actual car engineering, since tracking cars from order to delivery is apparently not their strength.

I get the idea, and perhaps an implementation that isn't fraught with trust or privacy issues could be found. :) But (and I realize your suggestion was tongue-in-cheek), as a matter of principle, the car isn't _yours_ until the check clears. There is no reason to have "identity granting" or "tracking" privileges over an asset just because you expressed an interest in it. The current tracking model is based on "good will", and while I'm sure Porsche would have liked it to work like in the presentations to the board, they don't have to provide accurate tracking. It was an attempt to hype/keep customer engagement, which sadly was met with the reality of implementing it.

(editing to add a point I'd forgotten) Besides, this is, in normal times, both a short-lived situation (cars should flow much faster from order to delivery) and a niche interest (idk if, say, Cayenne prospective buyers are as nerdy as those eyeing the Taycan). So it's, again, a bang-for-the-buck question - which bug do you pick to work on first?

You are correct that until you pay for it, you have no RIGHT to track it, however since Porsche is apparently voluntarily giving you that privilege, I was just suggesting they do it in a simpler but more reliable way. As long as someone on that ship has an apple device and they get internet from time to time.

My car and a friends car were supposedly being delivered end of this week or beginning next week . Nothing heard from my dealer so I am guessing it’s postponed for the third time !

I’m in the same position. My car was completed (without the battery) on the 19/9 and I’ve just heard that the battery has been fitted and the car is on the way.

My dealer is saying that they’re confident I’ll have it this year. Seems that they’re still giving themselves some leeway. So now I’m tracking ships leaving Emden!

I know I’m nuts but I can’t help myself. It’s like being a kid with Xmas a month away.
