Taycan delay - 8 weeks due to battery supplier fire

Just had the call and been told the car went into production on the 24th and will be completed apart from the 12v bat.

They said a maximum of 8 week delay, hopefully shorter.

Certainly hope this quoted eight weeks is a worst case scenario and most people will get a 12 volt battery (and their car) much sooner.

Ha Ha. Not sure I agree on the date format but give me the metric system over imperial any day. I'm in manufacturing and the metric system is just so much easier.

i hope so! I was pretty happy with late August delivery. Late October or even November sounds a very long time!

Any updates on this? My build is scheduled to complete on Friday, but haven't heard anything regarding delays from the dealer.

I emailed my Porsche rep yesterday and he said my ST is still on schedule to be built on the 8th of July and completed by the 15th July.
He didn’t mention anything about 12v battery supply
Issues (maybe he is unaware).

My Taycan CT 4 was supposed to start its build on Friday June 24th.

The “My Porsche” app has the car still scheduled for production - been that way since April 12th right after I locked my spec.

So from my initial deposit in November 21, projected delivery by the PC for April/May (which I never believed), build slot confirmed in February, production start date of June 24th - will be happy if I get this car by Christmas.

On MyPorsche my 4S chalk has the information "scheduled for production" since 2022-04-23, it persists not going to the next phase which in Portugal is "Your vehicle has been produced".
The estimated delivery date only the dealer has access to, I called him now and he informed me that the date of 15-07-2022 remains there.
So I hope there are no more delays, and in two weeks the torture will be over.

I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
MyPorsche changed the status to stage 3 "your vehicle has been produced".
Just another two or three long weeks

They are doing... Mine came out from the assembly line on 22.06 (upper window sticker) than 2 days Exclusive Manufactur items (lower window sticker). Just arrived to Budapest today.
Was accidentally at the dealership when the truck arrived...

This is ridiculous! It's 12v batteries for crying out loud! These are not specialist items! Why 8 weeks? That makes no sense? Mine is going into production 1st of July. Ship me mine and I'll buy a battery from bloody Halfords man! Joke.

Good dealer response time! Literally just emailed him and he immediately responded. My car went into production and is now in the factory compound awaiting shipping. He has however said he doesn't know yet if its got a 12v battery! I've asked him to let me know ASAP as I need to sort my personal plate for the car.

I spoke with Porsche Nottingham today. Nice Guy. He's confirmed that as it stands my build date is still listed as 01/07. And still expected to arrive with him on the 22/07. However he has said he's seeing delays on other models so expects mine will be delayed too. Just doesn't have a timescale yet. As soon as I know I'll post it on the forum. I'm basically writing off hope I'll have it before my planned holiday to Wales on the 15/08. Shite. I'll take the Audi.

Has it left the factory? My sales guy is saying mine is in the port! Did you get told its because of the 12v battery issues?
