Seems steep but depends on many factors - model, your age, record, location, garaged, type of cover and so on.

Non business use and privately owned < £500 for a 4S.

I could have gone the company route but didn't.

I’m in my late 30s, and went for the RWD, which will be parked up in driveway or locked garage in London. It’s my first car, which is why it could be steep. £1,369 was the cheapest, as some places have quoted me £3,000 or more.

I think the quote is valid for 30 days, so I’ll keep searching for a better deal.

Porsche quoted me £475 for 3 years of gap insurance, which seems like no-brainier.

Also with no accumulated no claims discount your quote is probably fair enough all things considered.

Is it possible to get my brother or father insured as additional drivers on my company car, even though they don’t work for my company, or do they need to get their own insurance?

Try ALA for Gap as worked out a lot cheaper. Have a code if you like which will save you 25%. DM.

That is good. I paid a little more than that from a third party gap insurer. Some of the UK Porsche dealers are franchised and some are owned by Porsche themselves. The ones owned by Porsche (Hatfield and Guildford to name two) offer this cheaper Gap which is fine. The franchised dealer I used, Silverstone, were much more expensive (circa £500 per annum). Their gap cover was higher but I don't think you need it so I went with the third party one instead: gapinsurance.co.uk who were excellent to deal with.

Yes, it is. Just ask your insurer to add them as named drivers.

You’re correct, I went through Mayfair and they are part of PRG, and said the GAP insurance deal was great. Thanks for the recommendation.

I have a RWD on order and my insurance is coming out at about £1600 a year via Churchill or Privilage for 10K miles a year via Compare The Market.

I've had my Licence for 6 years, 6 years NCB and no accidents. I tried Direct Line but they came in at over £2400. Most others refused to quote but I haven't tried any specialist brokers yet.

My age is the main factor being only 24 although I will be 25 when it arrives so it might be slightly less. I think my area is also pushing the price up. It would great to get anywhere near some of the prices you are getting. I had to go for the RWD because the 4S pushed the price to over £4500..

Have you tried Admiral directly as they were very competitive.
