I feel bad for those waiting forever on their car that keep hearing excuses on the delays

Porsche Press Release:

Porsche reports Q3 2022 U.S. retail sales

10/03/2022

Deliveries to customers in first nine months total 49,110 new cars across all model lines

Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) today announced U.S. retail deliveries in the third quarter of 2022 totaled 16,581, up 8.5 percent from the same period one year ago as supply increased amid sustained customer demand. The strong quarter reduced the year-to-date deficit versus a record 2021 to 4.9 percent for the first nine months of this year, when 49,110 new vehicles were sold to customers.

“I’m grateful for the relentless enthusiasm of our customers for the Porsche brand as we delivered 16,581 cars in the past quarter, while at the same time working with our teams in Germany and the U.S., and with our dealers, to reduce wait times to a minimum,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of PCNA. “Our order books are in good health across the range of Porsche models. The ongoing expansion of new dealership facilities that offer a walk-in brand experience and a real ‘wow’ factor is also helping connect new audiences with our legendary cars.”

Top seller in the latest quarter was the Cayenne, which along with the Porsche 911 was up strongly from the same quarter a year earlier. The all-electric Taycan finished the quarter in fourth place. The Macan remained the best seller for the year to date.

Porsche-approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) U.S. sales in the first nine months of 2022 totaled 23,743, up 9.7 percent from a year earlier.

I have a feeling if they could have delivered more, they'd have sold every one.
Yep. With the natural gas rationing that is on deck, I would not expect that to change anytime soon.

I agree. It definitely helps keep up the values of the cars, but sucks for the people waiting so long.

Is the war and supply chain the only factors to blame for the 47.5% drop off from Q2 to Q3?

The war was there in Q2, I guess.

I believe it's an excuse at this point. everyone is benefiting except the customer.

I was with a sales guy from a Porsche dealer that made over $1m last year and will make that much this year too.

If that's the case, I don't see why slow things down. If Porsche could have sold double the numbers they actually did in Q3, why would they not? Especially with the IPO and future recession looming.

Maybe I could have had my car in Q3, instead of Q4!

Higher margins. When I was looking to get a Taycan I was getting an 18% discount on a new unit. Now there is No need to give incentives

Me too, hopefully we won't have to wait until DVLA publish Q3 new registrations data in December.
The link below shows YTD (up to August) UK data by manufacturer (not broken down by model) with the 2021 equivalent. Porsche are bucking the trend at +41% above 2021 - most major manufacturers are 15-30% down on 2021.

Wonder who bought the only (1) Honda Clarity sold in the US this past quarter?

He/She/They deserve celebrity status, like American Idol or that ilk
