Hello from Singapore!

I have been driving my Taycan Turbo for almost two weeks. I ordered with the the option: "0N5 Rear-Axel Steering including Power Steering Plus".
Silly question: how can I confirm I do have these installed? I tried with the vehicle stationary and can't see any rear steering being applied.
I want to make sure that they included this option as I paid quite a lot for it ..

Any suggestions?

thank you for your help. I enjoy the forum a lot please keep up with the great work!

Cheers.

Thank you tbinmd! unfortunately I can't compare the turning radius as I don't have any reference. It feels just normal on u-turns and parking. It doesn't feel any different than my previous car (Audi S5).

I will check if I can visually confirm but was also wondering if there is anything that can be checked in the PCM. (I can't find anything)

thank you for your response!

Cheers.

There's no settings in the PCM.
When driving, if you make a U-turn you can go lane to lane, the car will not swing out wider.

The other way to check would be to put the car in the air, wheels off the ground, then put it in drive. Once it's in drive the rear wheels will move when you steer. It's only 2.8 degrees, but there is movement. (I'm assuming doing this works on the Taycan, I have done this with my 991.2 GT3)

you need to have a second person looking at the rear wheel while you turn at the maximum. You can also ask somebody else to drive and you watch. This is very significant to see.

You may find this video useful. About 5mins in it shows what someone would observe if you were to do a tight slow turn. I have it on my car and have seen it operate.

Thank you so much., very helpful though I can't notice any rear wheel turn .. checked through the mirror and had someone drive and nope .. I can't see any movement. I understand that is only a couple of degrees but I can't notice.I made an appointment to have it checked out.

Hope I am just missing something or it's too little change to notice ...

cheers.

thank you! it's quite evident in that video ... hmm .. despite having someone else drive it , I can't notice. Let's see what the technician says tomorrow. It's likely that I just can't notice .. wish I could mount a camera too :)

thank you all for the responses!

If you park the car on full steering lock you will be able to tell from the back wheels. The inside wheel will be clearly steering but for the outside wheel it is much less obvious.

Thank you. I tried this and nothing evident. starting to get a bit nervous about this.

Wonder what will happens if it turns out to be a factory error. parts from Germany will take ages and not sure the team here could retrofit ?

I booked an appointment. will know tomorrow.

The easy way to tell if to go make a U-turn. You can also tell when parking into a parking spot.

But physically you can can visually check for the electric motors on the rear wheel carriers.

The Taycan installation is different to these pictures, rather than having individual actuators it has a single "steering rack" and actuator at the back with a track rod to each hub carrier.

Good question - for months I was convinced that the option wasn't installed as I could not see the rear wheels turn whilst parking - I even had someone watch from the outside.

Movement is very subtle.

The only way to confirm is a) Ask your dealer to print off the full spec and options for your VIN, or b) go to My Porsche Website and click on the image of your car, scroll down and click 'Show Equipment Details' and then click 'All technical data' and you should then see all options per VIN listed and RAS under 'Transmission / Chassis':
