What are you paying for electricity per kWh?

As cost of electricity when home charging is an important component of the cost of running a Taycan, I thought it would be interesting to hear what people (across the world) is paying for a kWh of electricity.

Here is what I'm paying - excluding sales taxes:

Country: Ireland
Energy supplier: Bord Gais
100% renewable electricity: No (this will likely make me jump suppliers when my contract is up)

Day Rate: €0.1425/kWh (UK: £0.13; US: $0.17)
Night Rate: €0.0706/kWH (UK: £0.06 ; US: $0.08)

I have flexible pricing, similar to Octubus Agile in the UK, so it varies but for the past 24h average then:

Country: Sweden
Energy supplier: Tibber
100% renewable electricity: Yes

Avg rate: €0.044/kWh (excluding VAT)

That's a great rate – we've nothing like that yet in Ireland.

But if I go over my baseline allotment, it goes up to $0.29 and more...

And this is an older "grandfathered" rate.

if you’re PG&E and get teh EV rate - which are TOU - you no longer have baseline amounts, soo all power costs the same regardless of how much you use - off peak rates are $0.18/kwh

Thanks, didn't know that about the baseline.

Yeah, the off peak rate is around $0.18, but the tradeoff is $0.48 rates for peak and $0.37 for part-peak. I don't know if a separate meter is worth it, but I don't want to be the dad who is encouraging family not to use appliances from 3pm-12am every day Especially in the summer when we run the pool filter with the solar water heating - so needs to run when the sun is out to heat the pool.

Access charge: $14.80 per month (you pay this base amount regardless of usage)
Electricity Rate: $0.08526 / kWh
I also pay an extra $0.0307 / kWh for their renewable energy program (my supplied energy is allocated from their wind, solar, and hydro sources).

However I have a 10.6kW solar array with net metering. So I generate enough power during the summer to cover almost all of my winter usage. I typically only have an electric bill in January and February.

It's very strange to not have an electric bill or pay for gasoline on a regular basis.

turns out the vehicle is so overwhelming in terms of kWh used - that in my case the shift didn't matter - and the fact that the PG&E EV plans have _NO_ base line tends to make up for it if you are going over baseline each month...

but it's hard - but so far the eV plans have worked well for me.

I'm on a TOU plan through Peninsula Clean Energy (I pay a bit extra to get 100% carbon-free power). Currently averaging $0.23/kWh. Which sucks.

I was paying $.035/kWh for a “greenup” charge, but then did some searching and found an all green supplier that was cheaper than the non green electricity fee from my utility.

MidAmerican serves Illinois, Iowa, and neighboring states. The current "winter" rate is (after all additional charges and tax adjustments are factored in) comes out to .094/kWh. It will be cheaper after I negotiate for off-peak hours (which I believe is not the norm in the midwest).
