I took delivery of my 2025 Taycan base model 500 miles ago, and it is stellar. I offer these preliminary thoughts for what they're worth, if anything.

-I wish I had ordered rear-axle steeing. The car is *big* and has a much larger turning radius than I'm used to. Parallel parking isn't easy. Rear-axle steering would help with all that.

-I wish I had ordered an upgraded sound system. I didn't think it would make an audible difference, and I didn't want to sacrifice the trunk space with the woofer that comes with either upgrade (Bose or Burmester). But the car is so quiet, and the experience is so plush, that a better sound system would be a worthwhile enhancement. The base-level system isn't terrible. I'd describe it as gutless, even with treble and bass controls tweaked.

On the other hand, I'm glad I didn't get several options I was considering:

-Double-paned glass, which purportedly cuts cell signal. Whatever noise there is comes from the tires, and I'm not sure thicker glass would help with that.

-Glass roof. Eh.

-20- or 21-inch wheels. I like the softer ride and better economy of the 19-inchers, and to me they look fine. (Please don't yuck on my yum.)

Happy to address any questions. And just plain happy!

Weird, I find the standard system uncoloured with an even frequency response with the tone controls neutral. I have never had it anywhere near maximum volume.
OTOH I have low expectation of the potential of car sound due to physics...

Rear Axle steering on a base model to gain 1m of turning radius - I think not!

Taycan has same dimensions more or less as the Panamera and most premium SUVs (Range Rover, Escalade, etc).

Taycan does not need RAS IMHO if this is your measure.

Sound insulated glass is pointless too - road noise largely emirates from the wheel arches / footwell - wise not to waste money on it.

Yes, noise-insulating glass tweaks tire sound on bad pavement.
on new highways it's nice.

Burmester also nice, not only when you are audiophile.
It keeps balance at highest volumes perfectly.

I can assert that glass is a pain in the ass. It blocks radar detectors, toll tags, parking placards etc.
I hate it.

I have the options that the OP mentions….I can’t say that any one of them is critical to my enjoyment but they add up to make for a good experience when combined with other options.

I didn't have rear steering on my 2020 Taycan but added it to my 2025 Taycan because I found the car to be a bit large to park without it when I was in tight parking garages.

On a RWD the 19" Aeros are unfairly hated. They look good with that blue. The tall sidewalls look great (see Ferrari 246 Dino). The steering feels more nimble at low speeds vs 21s. The wheels are lighter and more efficient. Replacement tires are considerably less expensive and don't seem to wear unevenly like some 21s.

Yes, under all those aspects the 19" are totally ok and not bad looking at all.
In dynamics and what the Taycan is capable of, I already feel a big difference between 20" and 21".
Less rubber adds tons of driving stability and suspension hides the "harder" wheel very good.
So for ambitious driving the 21" are necessary.
For everything else not.
But hey, it's a heck of a sports-car and now and than I want to drive it like one.

Curious, did you join the forum/Facebook groups BEFORE you ordered your vehicle? I did. And the top things I learned on Day 1 is that the base sound system is rubbish, and the PB+ is the best option you can invest in. Granted, your 2025 has a battery redesign and has much better range than j1. Surprised you did not mention Chrono package, as it unlocks additional acceleration and adds a beautiful clock that I get compliments on by new riders. The panoramic glass is gorgeous, and backseat riders get to appreciate it the most. From the exterior viewpoint, the glass carries a seamless black reflection from the windshield all the way back to the trunk, gorgeous. All in all, options are personal (especially cosmetic ones) but I would say almost every inventory Taycan I've seen all have the Premium Package, and I think for resale, your Base Taycan without is gonna tank harder than anything.

The only option I wish I could get rid of is the glass roof in my 2021.
It was nice initially but the fact their is no automatic shade for those many bright hot sunny days in Southern California, I installed a removable sun shade which I never remove. It lets in enough light but blocks 90% of the heat. I wish there would be a carbon fiber option if my glass ever cracks so I could get rid of the glass once & for all.
For me the glass was a big swing & miss…

All those things have more to do with the size of the wheel rather than the actual aesthetic design of the aero. They look like cheap hub caps and cover almost the entire brake rotors. If you want 19's fine, but for the love of all that is holy, find better looking 19's for your luxury sports car.
