Third time I charged at the lounge in Bingen am Rhein. It is at a good location for my charge stops. Had to be in Tubingen to give a lecture

Good charge speeds

Six chargers. Up till now I was alone or just one other Taycan charging. Because it is Porsche only even on busy days it is a guarantee for direct acces

The location it self is close to the highway. On the location itself nothing else to do. Next to an Audi dealership. 500 meters back there is an Ionity with Mc Donald’s and other restaurants.

Good coffee and clean restrooms

Since last time plug and charge was added. Works well.

I didn’t need to use the code to open the gate. I think it worked with number plate recognition now

I wish the car showed the max rate it can do… I was at a BCHydro and the station showed its max, but the car did less.. so never sure what is going on. :/

That would be nice. It is possible. I think Mercedes or bmw does that in the car. The charger it self would be good too. Both can be the reason for sub optimal charge speed

Well, Porsche must have had somebody else set this up. They can't seem to figure out how to make their own chargers...

Mmmm. Single cable Alpitronic HYC300's there - so no sharey, sharey of electrons with your neighbour like at Fastned.

I like. 👍

exactly like our EA Walmart locations.

edit: this is my sarcastic remark, our charging stations are typically located in the distant corners of remotely located discount department stores and are nothing like what is depicted above. the closest thing to a porsche "lounge " is generally a bush(if one is lucky).

Porsche dealerships over here use ads-tec Energy to make their “Porsche” branded HPC chargers for them.

Alpitronic supply their HYC range of chargers to several dozen large charge point operators across UK and Europe. They’re very well regarded and really quite performant units. I’m not surprised Porsche chose them for their lounges.

Thought you guys had ABB Terra units installed by EA over your side of the ditch? No
EA uses something like three different equipment suppliers.
And even more contractors for maintenance and repairs.
All of which explains some of EA’s problems.

Yeah I think the quality and abundance of the general public charger infrastructure the states can be summed up by - please Elon let us on the Supercharger network 😅
