Over the last few weeks I’ve had an annoying dull rattle from the rear of my CT4S - tried various things - anyone else? Any ideas?

most obvious thing is making sure the deck stops/bag holders are out, if that is not it and it sounds more like a metal sound you can check the lid latch or the stops and see if it needs adjusting.

What does it sound like? Is it a bit of a flutter / could sound like something is caught flapping in the wind? Lower pitch?

If so, I had the same on my 4S CT. My local dealer, after multiple times mentioning it, found that the rear interior AC baffles (these are below the trunk area that help equalize cabin pressure) were flapping. They insulated them and it’s a night and day difference.

I had the rattle for a long time and it was getting progressively worse. I kept thinking either the hatch needed adjustment and was bouncing slightly, or a plastic bag was caught somewhere I couldn’t see, or most recently we almost attributed it to poor aero and the noise coming from the lid spoiler creating a vortex since it happened mostly above 30-40 and beyond.

I had the exact same issue from day 1. It was diagnosed by the dealer as a problem with the rear latch. They adjusted it and now it’s gone. It drove me nuts messing with the rear package cover, rear seats etc. until I gave up and scheduled a service appointment.

Something in the secret compartment, maybe?

Thanks, that sounds possible! Are they accessible-don’t really want to go to dealer.

I’m honestly not sure. I’d guess they had to take the trunk out to access them.

2024 CT4 here. Following this because I have had what sounds like aluminum tent poles rattling from the rear, since delivery in January.

Had dealer check it once but they said they could not duplicate the noise. Haven’t bothered taking it in again.

Hey I had a repeating rattle in my MY2024 CT, and thanks to this thread I was able to point out the latch TSB. As far as I can tell this seems to have fixed it!

I am taking mine in next week for recalls, and have to ask about this too.
My ‘24 CT has had a rattle that sounds like aluminum tent poles.
I did check to insure that the shelf supports were folded out, but it didn’t help.
Good luck with yours.
