Also: do people find this frustrating in tight parking spaces, eg hospital parking garages or mall parking? Don't want to spend all my time trying to find a park to protect my precious
Rear wheel steer really helps the agility

One word of caution is that RAS causes the car to turn so tightly that I slightly curbed my right rear wheel during my first week of ownership because the car turned so much more sharply than I thought was possible.
Quoted for truth!

It’s long, it’s wide, it fits in the garage. Passengers are amazed how much space there is and a big dog can fit in the boot. Above all its gorgeous, it’s the best!

Taycan has the same footprint as the cayenne. Same weight too!! Interesting isn’t it :) just lower and more badass ;)

Another contributing factor is that because the battery raises the floor, you are sitting in a more 'horizontal' position than an ICE car. You need a longer interior cabin for the same legroom as a comparable ICE car of the same height.

I'm certainly very happy with the actual size of the car ! Having decent space in the back seats (way more than you expect and perfect for 4) and the trunk allowed me to sell it "internally" as an eco friendly family car instead of a toy for the boy. Being careful when parking is a small price to pay. It is insane how much it looks like an awesome sports car while being the same size as our X5.

walking isn't that bad for you unless there's foul weather...

I’m more worried about my wife’s reaction TBH… she was reminding me how we used to spend “extra” time parking my Boxster, looking for a space that was sufficiently safe. The width is going to make this harder. Not complaining, just thinking things through in anticipation as it makes its way slowly here
Drop your wife off at the entrance to your destination, then park as far out as you can. Walking is good for your health.

You'll want to park it as far away as possible. The ONE time you don't is the time the car will be damaged by some thoughtless jerk.

And no one can be trusted. NO ONE. Not your friends, not your coworkers.

My advice is start prepping the wife for the parking neurosis now. When I met my wife I was already deep into the Porsche cult so I educated her from day one.
I don't know whether that was satirical, but while I did take some extra care of my previous Boxster (e.g. by leaving enough space from a driver's side door, and take a spot further out if one is readily available, but not too much), ultimately I thought "it's a car, it's meant to be used, if something happens I'll deal with it". There's also insurance.

With that rather worry-free attitude, the only damage after ~7 years of ownership was inflicted by myself.

I don't let my car restrict myself too much. If anything happens, I'll deal with it. There's insurance, and even if there isn't, I'd rather pay the money to get something fixed (but, again, so far only my own fault) than to burden myself with worry.

The most ridiculous thing I've read so far was someone suggesting that nobody is allowed to eat and drink in their car. I don't think I would want a car where I would have to act like that. (Unless it was truly a "museum piece" supercar that could not act as daily driver, only for special occasions. But even then I probably wouldn't go that far.)

The first thing I did in my Taycan was eat a sloppy burger from Jack in the Box on the long drive back home.

The Macan is shorter and narrower than a Taycan... I know because I once got a Macan as a loaner while my Boxster was getting fixed. Compared to the Boxster, it was very difficult to get into my garage.

When I considered the Taycan, I was shocked to see that it was even bigger. But I measured out the garage space, and after some practice I now make it into my garage "okay".

Far from ideal however... I had to give up backing in. Maybe I should take a day to try again.

Not in the slightest.
:CWL: The amazing thing is that you're in Texas, home of some of the biggest widest parking spots south of Michigan! In New York, even in the suburbs, you rarely get anything in much bigger than 8 ft wide. Back in Michigan, you could go to a WalMart and get a 9 foot wide spot.
