I won't even show you the back in my driveway as I totally filthied it up already.

Question: I won't always ugly cry while I drive it, right? That will stop eventually?

Congrats Annie, it is gorgeous! I absolutely love the wood on the interior and blackberry is perfect with the Frozen berry. You knocked it out of the park. Enjoy!!

Congrats! Was it worth the wait? Now the next questions is, what are you going to do with all this time that you until now used to spend tracking the car, its transport, heater issues, etc?

Congratulations! @annieland Looks stunnng!

We also picked ours up this afternoon. The BlackBerry/Slate turned out nicely, I think. I’ve had rervations about this choice, but paired with the Dolomite Silver I think it works well.

Wife is happy. That’s all that matters. I’d snuck the technology package in without her knowledge. She loves the HUD.

Ooooh!! I love it!! The unexpected contrast is fabulous with that gleaming silver. And the wheels are such a great fit. I rather like the heads-up display myself! I thought that would be the first thing I turn off, but it's totally non-obtrusive. The one on my husbands car is like a freaken banner across half the windshield. I didn't have to take any time to adjust to it in the slightest. Good on you for surprising her with it!

As for what I'm doing with my time... trying to figure out all these screens and things. I think I'll try out one little feature per trip. And gotta say, just took my teenage daughter for her first ride around the neighborhood and boy, that passenger display got some heavy use! She had her spotify going and J-Pop thumping before we were out of the driveway.

Enjoy, and many happy rides to your wife! :)

My wife got a speeding ticket in our e-tron back in November. I prefer to call them "driving awards". I asked her how much over the limit it was. It was for 67 in a 45, which in some places would be pretty bad, but here they have ridiculously low limits posted on a 4-lane, divided highway, and they only enforce the limit on holiday weekends. As a result, the average speed is somewhere over 60 m.p.h.

In any event, when she told me what she'd been clocked at, I told her she was an underachiever. ;) She didn't like that much, but I thought it was funny.

A few weeks later I had the dealer add the HUD, so it would be easier for her to monitor her speed. I let the salesperson talk me into the full tech package, and I told her today she could consider it an early birthday gift.

I have to figure out how to delete all the failed attempts to program the Homelink function from the system. I have four in there now, none of which work with the opener for the bay we'll keep the Taycan in.

I haven't started the homelink programming yet. Maybe I'll delegate that one out. I had my daughter jumping in and out of the car punching in the passcode on the garage heh.

I've been pulled over once in my life, over 15 years ago, and it did result in a "speeding" ticket, because it was a dark out of service construction zone. I was alone at night and thought I was being tailgated so I accelerated towards the next intersection, and the lights went on. Somehow 5mph over became 15-20. I am still so angry about it and if I ever get pulled over again, no matter how fast I'm going, I want restitution for that one bogus ticket I should have argued or fought but I was too shaken up.

I liked the idea of the intelligent speed monitor thingy being able to detect out of service construction zones when I learned about it. But now that I have it, and have started enjoying my Taycan, I think I'd rather just take the ticket 😜 .

Congrats on the car! Looks really good. I would have never thought this combo would work, but from the pictures, it really does.

Rather than (or perhaps in addition to) the HUD, what you should be adding to your wife's car is a proper radar detector and laser countermeasures. Something like this perhaps.

Thanks. I've considered that, but in general we don't drive enough to justify that level of countermeasure...though honestly it's probably cost-comparable to adding the HUD. There's also the "what example are we setting for our child" aspect to consider. I feel like actively protecting ourselves may encourage less civil driving, and could create a negative impression for someone who will be driving independently in a few years. I'd also have to trust my wife to remember to turn the jammer off after slowing.

Driving 20 over the speed limit doesn't set a particularly good example either, I'll admit, but differential speed is more likely to cause an accident while following a speed limit set unrealistically low. I'm told the limit used to be 55 on this particular highway.

There are single lane, undivided local roads here with the same speed limit this 2-lane each direction, divided highway with limited turn options has.
