Man, I don’t get it. Is this a different feature than ParkAssist?
It's a feature that allows you to park or pull out your car from a space while standing outside the car on your phone.

I use it an increasing amount when someone parks too close or in squashy European parking garages designed for the original mini.

Update. It was a very very good suggestion, however I went through the windows final position storing for the rear windows twice in the last couple of days. It did not fix it. The only time the app didn't tell me my windows were still open was when the app couldn't connect to the car, so it decided to fake it and tell me car is all closed, including windows. I started a separate thread on this.

EDIT: I checked the car status aging just as I was typing the above, windows showed open. But I just went back to the app, 20 minutes later, to screencap the "Remote Parking" button, and wow, the app showed windows all closed. The car has been parked in my driveway undisturbed during those 20 minutes. I even flashed the turn signals via the app to make sure it's not faking the car status, and the lights flashed, so it seems to have some connectivity to the car. So the windows status still seems random.
I’ve noticed a delay of 20-30 seconds from when the app says an update has occurred to when the correct status appears.

I’d go for a ride and try it again after you’ve parked. See what status you’re getting, but give it 30 seconds.

I have this too (not something I was actually after but came with the then Tech Pkg config upgrade that had other features I needed) - BUT after the first time using it it (parking from my driveway into my garage) it seemed to be literally about to hit the back wall of my garage on self parking and I just had to intervene - scared me enough TBH that I have never used it since! Keep meaning to set up cones or something to test what the approach speed and stop limits are but never get around to it.
Curious - do you routinely trust the sensors to stop the car in tight spots or do you frequently intervene and manually stop/interupt the process? And if the former, does it feel like the car moves uncomfortably fast towards a sensor stop or more of a slow creep?

You’re not missing out on anything here. This feature works really poorly so after trying it I have decided to never use it again. If you live in area where parking is tight and you need to pull it out of a spot before you can get in then that’s the only use I can find for it but where I live it’s not applicable.

I do understand what you mean. I'm not sure if I feel it has gotten slower when manoeuvring or I have gotten used to it – but to answer your question: I trust the sensors to detect an obstacle and it has been fine so far.

I think for me, the greatest learning has been to figure out where to stand relative to the car so that the bluetooth connection is solid but the car does not consider you an impediment and stop.

Recently in a shopping centre (Liffey Valley for those who know Ireland) – I came back from having some food – and a van had parked really close to me and the drivers door. Anyways, the van driver was still in the van (eating a sandwich) and said to me as I approached: "do you want me to pull out so you can get in?".

I said: "no need, I'll just pull the car out!". I open my app - silently hoping it won't fuck up now – and pull the car out of the spot – within about 20 seconds of starting. The van driver was aghast: he was literally asking me: "what am I after seeing?"

LOL!

I also did not purchase it purposefully. In Ireland, it was the only way I could get the "cross traffic" feature that I value – that warns me when I am reversing out of a space manually that there is traffic approaching – before I can see it.

Same for me, it seems (seemed) to work decently - the car was even steering a bit to fine tune the (self) parking maneuver. Now the connection with the app is broken, regardless of how close I stand to the car. Are you still able to use it after the app update?

Unfortunately my car is in my Porsche Centre for last few months waiting on a DC Booster replacement. So I've not been able to use the latest app against the car. I'm fingers crossed it gets fixed this week as we're due to head towards Norway on Sat.

I have the same issue. Since the app update the remote parking assist is no longer getting any connection to the car. And I use/need this function almost on a daily basis as the parking spot I have in front of my apartment complex is so tight.
I was not sure, though, at the beginning if it is the app update causing this malfunction or because my car happened to be at the shop almost at the same time.
Now I know it’s the app thanks to this great forum and their active members!! Thanks to all of you posting about this issue!

do want to add that on the vehicle News, Weather etc are all grayed out ( disabled) -
Just wanted to update on my earlier post - this morning this was able to connect and the app reflected correctly. On the car also I was able to see all those disabled apps like weather and News show up. It looks like the server update had issue that resolved today. One thing I see is that all the trip data from 1/20 until now is not reflected - gone in the app - may be it’s saved in the car - need to check.

Posting here because it seems related to the app update. While it s faster and has an improved layout, it broke the remote parking feature. Specifically, it broke the connection to the car. It stopped working right after the update. It shows “no connection“ for 3-4 times, then it hangs on “establishing connection” indefinitely. Everything else seems ok. Has anyone with remote parking experienced the same? Thanks

I just updated to the latest and tried it. Didn't work. Still hangs when trying to connect to the car. I also completely deleted and re-installed just in case. That didn't help either. ?

Confirmed. In my case it no longer even tries to connect to the car, simply says "vehicle not reachable" while showing all the other updated info (e.g., state of charge, windows, pre heating, etc) ie the vehicle is in reality connected . bunch of German amateurs (in the negative sense :))
