Do Porsche owners still get discounted rates at Ionity?
Yes but the rates have gone up if you're getting new car. People who have a car on the old rates can keep them until the contract expires after three years.

UK prices per kWh have increased from 30p/kWh to 39p/kWh.

That looks like a great spec to me.
Love the look though I was too tight to go for crests in interior or coloured belts!

Overall I chose an unconventional set of options to suit me and not waste money on stuff of limited value to me. I am still delighted by mine after 2 years ownership. I didn't drive my Ferrari once last summer, which is a first.

I am a music lover and have good quality sound at home but never found a car system worth spending money on. I compared Bose and standard and at the volume I listen standard had fairly low colouration and an even frequency response I thought the Bose faux surround quite effective but not worth it, the SQ was not better.

The only thing I, personally, would want would be the ventilated massage seats, our most appreciated option overall, and I would drop the coloured belts and headrest crest to save money, but that is just me.
That's interesting to know re the Bose. I love my music, I'm no audiophile, but I'm a musician at heart. The Bose used to be Sub (forgive the pun) 1k but at over 1k, I'm not sure it's worth it.

I'm not normally one for going for what could be seen as frivolous spec, but I've always liked the porsche crest on the front headrests, when I've seen it on other cars.

The red belts... that's just me pretending im ordering a GTS ?

Im a big fan of HUD's and i looked at adding it, but you then have to spec privacy glass and the hud doesn't look that spectacular IMHO.

Im also a fan of ventilated seats, do they noticeably impact range? AC certainly did on my GV60.

Uh oh, we all know how much Ferrari's like being parked up ?

Having said that, my maserati 4200 always behaved itself when i had it for 16 mths or so.

My Genesis rate was meant to be 24p for 5 years, then they just hiked to 40 mid term. I wasn't happy.

I bought the Ferrari new in 1997 and it has given zero trouble. I hate the response of turbo engines (some are not that terrible but most are IME) so keep the naturally aspirated 3 pedal stick shift sportscar.

The Taycan performance means I don't miss the Ferrari throttle response since an EV is, and always will be, better anyway. The weight is a disappointment but is hidden well by vast tyres and low C of G IME.

I thought the HUD too expensive for what it is and I like the skeletal look of the dash top without its hood.
FWIW I haven't missed it at all and now notice I rarely look at the HUD in my other car that does have one any more.

The Genesis and BMW Hud's I've had have been superb and if I go for the Macan, I'll 100% get the augmented reality one offered, but on a Taycan build, I cant justify £1600 on one.

3 pedal gated shifter is the dream, one i won't achieve, but I'd settle for a V10 R8 ?

Id dearly love to have a V8 and a Taycan, but with my job, I'm just not off often enough to justify a second car and insurance where I am is plain stupid.

The C63 was a dream car and I struggle to fault it, it's even economic on my run to work. I'm no no rush to move it on, but losing my mate and my other mate getting the C word etc, brings life into perspective.

Toying with 2 / 3 spec ideas.

One. Partial leather and spend the pepita money on more spec or choosing a colour.

Two. Obviously the spec as above (or similar)

Three. Suck up the 19" S Aero's and spend the £700 spare on something else.

The joys of the prosche configurator.

Vented seats use the 12v battery as do most of the gadgets in the car and therefore not impactful on the HV battery per se. Clearly, the 12v is topped up via the HV but you won't notice it.

Venting relies on a fan to circulate the ambient cabin air so no HV drain.

AC (HVAC) is the battery killer.

That's great to know, therefore ventilated seats would be a great option ?

Cheers

Sports chrono, does that essentially give you 'sports plus' and a clock?

On the standard car, does the steering wheel drive mode wheel just give you 'range, normal and sport?'

Any thoughts on PTV? Is that only useful when really pressing on through corners?

Test drives for Taycan RWD and Macan 4 booked for next Tuesday.

Panamera?
Nice cars zero doubt, but I couldn't afford a newish one, and the 2.9 hybrid through work, is quite a bit more expensive than the Taycan, and thats before you've filled it with fuel.

As a personal buyer, I cant afford to drop £60k+ on a secondhand V6 one.

I considered the panamera for quite a while, but ultimately went for the C63 for alot less money.

Individual Mode also.

Makes selecting drive modes easier.

Iconic piece of kit on a Porsche.

PTV+ is aimed at performance handling.

Neither are must haves and pointless on a base model arguably.

That's what im thinking. I'm not fussed about the clock and I'm sure it handles well enough without PTV.

Id be paying nearly £1k for a rotary control on the steering wheel.

Virtually nailed the seat / overall tech spec.

It's now really just paint / wheels / interior material.

Full Leather is a no go based on monthly price, it doesn't reflect good value for me at £46 a month.

Solid black.... i swore off black cars years ago, looks great clean, horrible 2 days later. But it suits the Taycan IMHO

I wanted Volcano before, but nothing strikes me as, I need that colour.

Alloys .. really torn. I'd love to see a range figure between 19's and 20's. On the i4M50, it made a considerable difference, 20 miles or more.

I think the sports chronograph gets you a heated steering wheel. Having just been outside that is pretty handy….

I'd love to see a range figure between 19's and 20's.
As with everything else I have to say, I have zero idea whether any of this is still relevant for anything past MY2024.

At the time I ordered mine, I had benchmarks from somewhere (perhaps even this forum) suggesting that the 20" Turbo Aeros delivered the most range of anything in the standard lineup - even more than the 19s. We're probably not talking about a huge difference, though.

As for ventilated / massage seats, I initially got them as a last-minute addition to improve the comfort of my spouse. They are great, and I have found myself using them a lot as well. They also do not visibly impact range - certainly not to the extent that the cabin climate control does. Simply turning heating or AC on at even the lowest level instantly causes the range estimator to drop about 20 miles.

Both the HUD and the Sports Chrono package have potential downsides, depending on your POV. I deliberately did not spec either of them largely out of concern over dashboard clutter. The infrastructure for the HUD obscures part of the area in front of the steering wheel, and the clock does the same for the center region. There is already one digital clock in the center touchscreen and another in the instrument panel.
